Pan's godfather

Okay, who is Pan's godfather ? Or who should be the godfather ?

Two great candidates. Piccolo and Goten. In episode 19 of DBS, Piccolo was hanging around with Gohan and Videl and, cause he's not interested in shopping, stayed outside taking care of Pan. Piccolo loves Gohan as a son and Gohan sees Piccolo as a second father.In the episode I mention, Piccolo showed us that he actually cares about Gohan's daughter. On the other side, we have Goten, Gohan's cute little brother, due to familty ties, he's a huge candidate if not the main one.

Who should be Pan's godfather ? Discuss.

Gohan probably trusts Piccolo with his life more than anyone in his immediate family, I'm going with Piccolo being Pan's godfather.

It's largely a Christian tradition. Japan has had multiple exposures to Christianity, and it's not like the religion doesn't exist there. I wouldn't be surprised if the concept itself existed there either, although I doubt it is particularly widespread.

Also, the Chinese have a similar concept, and given how much of Chinese culture the Japanese have appropriated over their histories, it's possible that the idea may have come in through that route.

I'd have to do more research to be sure, though. This isn't quite my area of expertise.

While Gohan loves Piccolo, I think he knows Piccolo isn't really parent material. Or if he doesn't know that, Videl would talk him out of it. Piccolo stays a beloved uncle.

Kurririn would be the logical choice for godfather. He has experience raising a daughter, and he's sane compared to the rest of the (surviving) parents in the cast. The only serious objection is that his family lives with Roshi.

Don't Gohan and Videl live right next to Goku and Chichi on Mt. Paozu, or is that GT-only? Wouldn't she just stay there with her grandparents with continued financial support from Ox Demon King/Mr. Satan?

(And I guess Goten must live there too. Toei and Toriyama are probably never going to age him up to the point he would move out, or even just build his own house in the area)

Goku is so obviously Pan's Godfather. Hell, the name is big clue of how Goku was involved. When Gohan, Videl and Chi Chi were thinking of names, they stumble across Goku, who's very hungry at the time, and pressure him for a name. Goku subconsciously thinks about food because he's so hungry and thinks of what food can be made on and what would sound like a simple name for a girl. Then "Pan" sprung to his mind, and the rest is history.
