A question about the GT green bricks.
OK so I was watching GT on the green bricks and I noticed when switching between Japanese and English which I tend to do often, for whatever crazy reason. I noticed that on Japanese, quite frequently, the subtitles don't show up and no sound comes out but the characters lip flaps are moving. It doesn't do that in the English version though. Is that some kind of glitch or something?

Do you change the audio while in the episodes or before you start watching the disc because if it's the first option chances are you'll have to enable the subtitles while in the show since the default language is english and the subs are optional.
If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out.

I change it while watching the show. I always switch between English and Japanese each episode and I noticed that it tends to happen during recaps. I'll try to stay with one language when I can decide...superrayman3 wrote:Do you change the audio while in the episodes or before you start watching the disc because if it's the first option chances are you'll have to enable the subtitles while in the show since the default language is english and the subs are optional.

If you switch the audio during the show you'll have to enable the subs manually but once they are enabled they'll stay on during the duration of your viewing until you either turn them off or eject the disc usually I tend to just turn them on and leave it enabled, it's a good way to compare the original Japanese script when watching the english dub to see how the script was adapted for an english audience and see what liberties were taken when complex cultural differences arise during the translation (for example a japanese joke that native viewers would probably understand but english viewers might not).s841 wrote:I change it while watching the show.
