DB Heroes Anime Series?
I've been looking at the recent developments with DB Heroes, and even though it stinks of fanfic, I honestly think it would be awesome as a side series that Toei could possibly consider working on alongside Super, assuming their budget allows it.
I made a topic recently about the inclusion of Broly in the Universe 6 tournament (even though I would like to clarify again that I am not exactly an avid fan of the character) appeasing fans of the series who are more interested in the muscle bound designs, unlimited transformations and constant fighting, and honestly I think if Heroes was turned into an anime, it would definitely appease these people. They are no less fans than those who are more interested in those that are more interested in DB's deeper themes, story, canon and series direction, and in my opinion therefore may deserve something a little more action heavy than Super provides.
While Super adds to the lore and acts as a continuation of the series, Heroes can provide near impossible scenarios and crazy levels of action that all fans can enjoy without the fear of overstepping canon or contradiction of past events, and would be a fun side series/story for us to observe and discuss for fun.
And of course, if it gets popular enough, Heroes can become a brand and make even more money than it already has. More cards, games, action figures etc.
Do you guys think a DB Heroes anime would be a good idea, or could the creation of the series be fatal to the fandom with even more misinformation or impeding DB Super's success?

I would be up for it if they can give us a good story. I can careless about the AF stuff in Heroes because Heroes is its own thing and they can do whatever they want with it. In Heroes, its set in a virtual world where anything can happen. Heroes as a TV show can work if they went a Tamers type of universe where the DB series is fictional and the main character goes into a AU of Dragon Ball where anything can happen.

I guess then, the question is if Victory Mission is good enough to animate.

Super & the word "success" doesnt co-exist even in TOEI's wildest dreams. Such a crap-load of..whatever
On topic: Enuf if enuf
TOEI ruined DragonBall fandom with GT in 90's. Now Super. Next, Heroes. Gosh...
Certain masterpiece are best left alone. Just treasure Toriyama's work/creation
That being said, I freakin LOVE Animation/Art style in Heroes. Lavish production value shows in every frame, with my Favourite being (LSSJ Broly vs SSJ Goku & Hero) & Super Buu (and a bunch of Majins like Majin Janemba/Bojack/Garlic Jr) vs Vegito, with Super Buu absorbing them & SSJ2 Gogeta vs Super Buu inside his body....

Re: DB Heroes Anime Series?
I seriously doubt TOEI wants two Dragonball series on at the same time potentially competing with one another, let alone one that's basically crazy fanfiction and has nothing to do with what Toriyama wants.

Re: DB Heroes Anime Series?
I've got no interest in a Heroes anime series. I'm very satisfied with Super (weird animation days aside).
Heroes is pretty much the opposite of what interests me about Dragon Ball.
I don't a care about: a yugioh version of DB, an entirely new cast, bargain-sale power-ups, green oozaru brolli, blonde super 17, power levels.
Sorry. ^^; I'm here for the current DB cast and their interactions with each other. I'm here for Gokû and Vegeta (and Beerus and Whis). I'm here for universe-expanding-plot stuff. I don't care about the heart of the cards.

Re: DB Heroes Anime Series?
Anything's better than Super at this point.
On a serious note though, probably not. DB Heroes looks incredibly silly and seems to be nothing but fanservice so unless they came up with an original story I can't see it being good at all.
I do like the idea of new characters (I've always been in favour of Oob getting the treatment he deserves) but again, you need a story worth telling for us to care about those characters.

Heroes is truly bad fanfiction made reality. Its like something every 10-13 year old thought about while watching DBZ as kids.

Sumtimes, fan-fictions turn out to be greatest source material, as opposed to what clueless TOEI has been doin ever since GTprecita wrote:Heroes is truly bad fanfiction made reality. Its like something every 10-13 year old thought about while watching DBZ as kids.
Lets face. Every, if not most Kanzenshuu members & DBZF members that I've came (including those who arent even hardcore DBZ fan) tend to know Power Chain in Buu Arc. Forget abt knowin
Just the process of connecting various statements & feats have produced Power Chain of Buu Arc frm Super Vegito ~ Good Buu tier makes the entire joke TOEI have been spewing upon fans as outdated piece of crap (Ultimate Gohan turning SSJ Gohan etc)

I think DB Heroes should stay a Data Caddass/Video Game series. It's better for its longevity that way.

Some of us care very little (read: basically not at all) about these supposed pre-established chains of power.Vijay wrote:Just the process of connecting various statements & feats have produced Power Chain of Buu Arc frm Super Vegito ~ Good Buu tier makes the entire joke TOEI have been spewing upon fans as outdated piece of crap (Ultimate Gohan turning SSJ Gohan etc)
Change anything you want. Tell me a good story. I don't care if that suddenly means Appule's putting up a fight against Vegetto. Make it a compelling story, and I'll ignore these disparities/problems/whatever just like I ignore Hermes casually mentioning Star Trek by name early on in Futurama.

Re: DB Heroes Anime Series?
I think Heroes is going to eventually get it's own series with all of the animated shorts. However, I doubt that it will ever be dubbed or released anywhere outside of Japan since it is based off the Heroes game. If they gave it an actual story, I'm all for it! If it happens you can bet on having multiple series like Yu-Gi-Oh!

Re: DB Heroes Anime Series?
It would be cool if they made specials or movies based on the manga or the game arcs, but I doubt they'll ever make it.

Re: DB Heroes Anime Series?
To say nothing of there being an easy way to merchandise such a series, it would also be easier to produce. Within the confines of a merchandise series like this it is often easier to make use of BANK animation, so it would certainly be easier on the staff to produce an animated series.

I'm not really sure how I'd feel about a Heroes series. If it happened while that was the only new material we were really getting, I'd be kind of disappointed and worried that would be the direction of the franchise moving forward. If it was just an additional series we had alongside Super or something, then I'd be fairly interested in seeing what it was like, I guess. Honestly, of the various "spinoff" material we've had, I would be more interested in seeing something tackle the Online/Xenoverse story stuff...but I guess I'd take Heroes over what SD has become (became...whatever...is it even still going now?).

Re: DB Heroes Anime Series?
Heroes is nothing more than insane power-ups with GT style villains. It literally does all the same things people dislike about the franchise for a decade.
For a silly videogame it obviously doesn't matter, but making a series out of this, even if its not canon, would still be disastorous. Casual fans wouldn't know the difference between canon either, so they would think its part of the main story

No. A Xenoverse anime would be better lol. *fingers crossed* Future warrior is not a Saiyajin and just a Human with lots of dormant power.

I probably wouldn't be interested in a Heroes anime (unless it had a compelling story, which I seriously doubt). Heroes has never interested me much at all, and I don't think an animated adaption would change that.

Re: DB Heroes Anime Series?
I think if Super wasn't a thing, then a promotional Dragonball Heroes Anime would probably have been on the cards the longer that the arcade game continued to prosper. In fact, I'm kinda shocked we haven't seen at least an extended special or something already.
I think that people who pick flaws in Heroes based on contradictions in established main-franchise character strengths are missing the point in the game entirely. It's a story about an avatar-based card-game - the Dragonball franchise itself is just a vehicle for that. It's a meta-usage of Dragonball assets - a postmodern application of the brand; it's like Star Wars-themed Monopoly or something - the rules of the game are self-contained, the Dragonball bit is just thematic attire.
