Dragon Ball Macedonian Dub

Post by Tian » Mon Dec 28, 2015 11:54 pm

While I was on Youtube searching for some videos of International dubs of Dragon Ball, I accidentally found a Dragon Ball episode in Macedonian, here's the link for the episode : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhFpxWRkgBw

As far as I know it was aired in A1 and the dub was made in 2002 and its voice cast consists of : Hristina Grkova, Hristina Pepovac, Dimce Meskovski, Trajce Crvenov, Sanja Savevska, and Natasa Arsova
A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years :)

Oh my. I've just had a look at it, and the synchronisation is as bad as in the Serbian dub

Found the first episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMUAcNXRFHw
It feels odd to me how there's no narration at the beginning.

Check this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPqqG9HIK-k) and you'll find out why the Serbian dub had lip-sync problems

In Serbia, dialogue directors used to cast 5 or 6 actors for all the characters, these actors always recorded in group and the dialogue director never paused the recording, so a non-stop recording is likely to produce lip sync problems. these lip sync problems weren´t exclusive for Dragon Ball or MAT Produckcija dubs, they were also in TMNT (Shown in video) and Transformers G1.

That doesn't have to cause lip sync problems per se. IIRC, TheRed259 told me that DB was dubbed into Greek at such a speed that I don't think there could be any pausing at all, yet lip sync in that dub, while not spectacular, is a lot better than this.
We're also dealing with a badly translated and timed script, for instance. I used to think that they had no visual input at all while recording, but we've seen that's not the case.

Edit (22/02/16) I thought Macedonia only aired the first series (Dragon Ball) but now I discovered that Dragon Ball Z was also aired there (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsxMbqJUJVc)
