Hey guys, I'm a newbie...hence the newbie title under my name. Anyways, I apologize in advance if this was already a topic before hand and I just missed it while I was glancing backwards. My questions and such have to do with Dragon Ball video game collecting.
For starters, I'm pretty new to Dragon Ball in general. Not to go into detail here, because it is a long story, but I started watching in 2013, and finished in 2015. ...just in time for them to announce Super, throwing my pride at finishing a long running series, out the window. Regardless, I bought my first Dragon Ball video game this year when Xenoverse came out. Great game and all, but I started to become more interested and fascinated with the older games that were released for other systems and long story short... this:

And no, that isn't even all of them. I ordered a lot more for Christmas, so I still have big ones like the first 3DS Heroes game, the Mega Drive/Genesis game, and the Super Butoden Trilogy coming my way, plus some. So I've kind of made it my mission to collect them all, or at least as close as I can within reason. For example, I don't plan on flying over any Zenkai Battle arcade machines over any time soon, though that would be pretty epic. My other plan, besides just plain collecting them all, is to create a long series of retrospectives/reviews of each one after I'm done collecting them, since I'd be coming at them without any nostalgia towards the games, but with a working knowledge of the series in general. I don't know, I think it's a cool idea.
So the first reason I'm posting this here is to ask if anyone has any ideas or links for translations of the Famicom and Super Famicom games? For the record, I do own a Retron 5 and soon learned of fan translation patches that work on some games. For example, I found one for Shen Long no Nazo which works surprisingly well. I don't need anything too crazy, but a translation to help navigate the more text heavy games would be appreciated, ESPECIALLY for the Super Gokuden series. It's hard to pick the right choices when I can't READ them.
My second reason for this topic is to ask advice on which games I should or shouldn't get. And no, I don't mean because of how good or crappy it is, but more on feasibility for an English speaking American to import and what actually COUNTS as a Dragon Ball GAME. For example, the Apple Pippin "game" that is, as far as I can tell, only a crappy Mario Paint rip-off (If anyone can correct me on that, please do.)
Thirdly, if anyone could help me with instructions or tips for importing Japanese games and systems, that would be a huge help. I already said I own a Retron 5, and I did import a Japanese 3DS. But any advice on other Japanese imports would be appreciated. And is there ANY way for me to play the old Dragon Ball games that have been taken off the App stores? ...Particularly the Boyhood Arc RPG?
Lastly, I was hoping that people could help me with a concrete list of games and which platforms they were for. So far I've been using the Dragon Ball Wiki for my list, but I like to take what they say with a grain of salt for obvious reasons.
So I hope someone would be willing to help a newb out like this. And again, sorry if this is already a topic, but I didn't see one. Thanks

Advice/help with Dragon Ball video game collecting
Dragon Ball fan since 2013, Favorite show since 2015.
Favorite series: original Dragon Ball; Favorite Movie: Battle of Gods; Favorite Game: Advanced Adventure
Favorite character: Kuririn; Favorite Villain: Cell
I've watched everything dubbed, and all of GT, Super, the movies and specials, and half of Original Dragon Ball subbed. I've also read through the whole manga and Dr. Slump. Will watch all of Z subbed once I collect the last three Dragon Boxes.

Re: Advice/help with Dragon Ball video game collecting
Wow, you are one dedicated fan. I'm amazed.
Well it's not Dragon ball at all, but Dragon Quest games have all Akira Toriyama's designs, and Dragon Quest VIII for ps2 and Dragon Quest Heroes for PS4 main characters turn into "a super saiyan" of sorts. So I dunno, I like DQ's and kinda consider them dragon ball. So if I collected DBZ Games, I would definitely collection DQ games.
About translations, don't hope for all games to be completely translated, I think the Goku-den Totsugeki Hen is only translated up to Baba's Place. (The Kakusei Hen tho is fully in english I think).
About which I don't consider games at all, the Playdia Plan to eradicate the saiyans, it's just a interactive movie. Not a game in my list.

There's room for only one snake, and one big boss.
