OSSG

What Age in time did the original Super Saiyan God appear?

We know he went through the ritual and fought the evil Saiyans on Planet Vegeta.

How long before Freeza destroyed the planet?

A specific time of when the original Super Saiyan God appeared is never given by Shenlong in Battle Of Gods. He just states that a Super Saiyan God appeared to battle the evil saiyans, then when the power of Super Saiyan God expired, the form itself just became a legend.

I believe a popular theory is that the God of Planet Vegeta and the OSSG are one and the same.

It would validate Kaio's filler story in a sense, wouldn't it?

Just like Dragon Ball since Chapter #4.

No, because in the filler content, it was the god that sent down the meteor shower that destroyed planet Vegeta, when we know that Freeza was the one that destroyed it.

Would one of these work? Or are they "retconned" out?
10,000~3,000 YEARS AGO? (#BA)
--The Saiyans begin a violent and inhumane lifestyle, attacking numerous planets to build up wealth and goods. According to one theory, the Saiyans descend from the survivors of an ancient battle, which explains their warlike tendencies.
[Ref: The Saiyan lifestyle description is from SEG: Character Volume. Toriyama says there that the Saiyans have lived this violent way “since ancient times”. The theory on their origins is from the Daizenshuu 7 race section, which says this is "possibly" the case. The range I’ve suggested here is I think suitably ancient, but otherwise arbitrary.]
Circa AGE 735
--The Saiyans’ animosity towards Freeza begins to grow, and on Planet Vegeta there is continual civil unrest among the Saiyans.
[Ref: Date and info from Daizenshuu 7 and GT Perfect File Vol.1. I suspect this is a reference to the war-torn Saiyan city in DBZ Episode 17, but am not sure.]

Both work. The first one might be where the OSSG first appeared. Since we now the time limit for the God form is short, the savage saiyans might not even understood what was happening and the stuff fell into legend. Shenron's story can fit anywhere in this gap. The second one is so far ahead of the God legend, no matter if the first is true or not, that it doesn't affect anything.

It didn't mention a time in BoG. The Saiyans of Planet Vegeta knew about the SSJ legend but didn't know anything about SSJ God so I would think it was much older. Then again it's possible that the pure-hearted Saiyans who performed the ritual were all killed and the the evil Saiyans decided to never speak of the form again.

I have a feeling that Bardock will end up being the original SSJ God somehow :P.
