Dragon Box vol. 2/4

Post by whitetop » Mon Jan 11, 2016 5:23 pm

I am really really sorry if a new member like myself can't ask for items but i am in need.

I am badly after dragon box volume 2 and 4, i have the rest at a very good price but had to import volume 1 since being in the uk and the seller took the import charges off since it was not needed really.

Well i'm having no other luck on these two rare ones without stupid prices, or water damaged boxes, if i import i got to pay the import charges as seller wants to send to ebay for them to send to me and not cut out the middle man and save me the charges.

So can i be so kind and ask if one has these two, new or at very best like new with no damage? Uk and paypal only as i've been conned too many times.

I wish you the very best on getting these as you said they are very hard to find unless you have plenty of money. lol they're the only ones that I'm missing as well but I can live without them. I'd maybe sell my boxes 1,3,5,6, and 7 if somebody would make me a good offer. :P then I'd have to think hard on it at that. lol
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Likewise I wish you the best of luck with finding these two boxes undamaged at a reasonable price, as they are the most expensive I've seen.

I would advise checking Ebay every now and then, it might become disheartening seeing Boxes 2 and 4 being listed and always at extravagant prices, but unless by some miracle Funimation decides to continue the level sets or TOEI does their own HD remaster (both cases could see the Dragon Box prices in general go down) those Boxes are going to remain like gold dust.

Thank you for the replies.

I'm ok with the 145$ prices but its the boxes, how people can sell them damaged and still ask these prices i'm not sure.

I check ebay uk every hour for the passed 4 weeks yet same results, if i go on ebay US then i will find these boxes at great prices yet non send to the Uk, its bad enough its took me since the dragon boxes was announced to find what sets to buy lol.

At the worst you can buy the singles? They're region 2 and no english subs or dub to. I sold my Dboxes 1,3,5-7 because I gave up trying to complete it. I was out of a the Dragon Ball fanbase when they came out and came back in when they started going up in price. :/

For Dragon Ball? Everything but the edited VHS. I'd say outside ghosting the UK single sets are the next best thing to Dboxes (better colors too). For Z, everything outside the edited VHS tapes and Pioneers Saiyan and Namek saga DVDs. However, the problem here is getting the whole series in 4x3 (which you can only get throught the Dragon box *which is why Dbox 2 is so much).

Well i see in the sticky about showing your stuff off and all i see is members with the blue brick (remastered) ones, but have seen the unboxing of the dragon boxes and there is a red box with dragonball in it, (can't find much on it).

i'm really not sure what to get as i hate edited stuff, i like the original footage of stuff

The dragon box is the complete package (NEP and such). The blue bricks are not bad, no JP title cards and degrained/slightly zoomed in picture but still 4x3

If it's this one then yes. Its the Japanese Dragon Box for the original Dragon Ball

For dragon ball, I would get the UK season sets

From left to right: Dbox, Blue Season Sets, UK Single

For Dragon Box 2 I'd get the japanese singles that cover Dragon Box 2 and maybe 4 (but you can get that part in 4x3 in Madman or FUNi's DVD singles)

I did look at that dvd a few times but was not sure it was uncut (being uk they cut everything)

I'm liking the first picture the most, is that the dragon box one?

Nope they are uncut :D Yup the first one is the Dragon Box! You can get the Japanese ones. I think France has them too but they look close to the blue bricks because I belive they de-grained them

Really thank you for the help,

I have looked on ebay uk with no dragon box in sight but blue brick is there, if the blue bricks are uncut then i will get them as i don't want to waste money on cut dvds.

It should be pointed out that the blue bricks are still missing some things like the Next episode previews, the 2nd opening animation and several ending animations. Also, you won't likely find any of the Dragonboxes on Ebay as they were released exclusively in Japan. As far as I'm aware the Dragonboxes are the only way to get these missing bits. They are also incredibly expensive going for at least $300.

Those are all very true. Blue Bricks might be a tad cheaper than the UK sets. I've been trying to get the UK sets myself but they're a lot to import (almost 70USD for 2 dvds)

thank you for pointing that out, i just did a google and only one i can find that will ship to the UK is 677$, but i just found zavvi sells the yellow boxes that "eledoremassis02" linked to, so if these are closer to the original then i'll get them while they are on offer since they are not on ebay

I had no idea the Dragon Boxes had gone up to such a ridiculous price until I saw this thread and double-checked online. Yowza, and I thought I had over payed when I bought box 4 at $80 Canadian years ago. I'm pretty glad now I finished my collection while they were still retail price.

Manga UK might get them so be patient, they're not worth spending over 100$.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
