Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.
I saw the japanese version of 'Wrath of the Dragon' with the english subtitles a long time ago. I notice something about Bulma in the movie. The way she looks at Tapion is like a girl looking at a boy she likes in high school.
Did Bulma like Tapion in a platonic way? It would be pretty messed up if she has a crush on him since she's married to Vegeta
I... never got that at all. If anything, she seems to feel a motherly need to protect him as if Tapion were one of her own children (as seen by... well, her actions throughout the entire movie).

Same here, I never really got anything out of it other than her looking at him as being a really good friend to her son, despite having his own far more pressing issues to deal with. If it wasn't for that relationship, I could easily see her having thought of him as 'cute', but that didn't happen.
For what it's worth too, I don't think anything was changed or added in the English dialogue to really suggest her having a romantic/sexual interest in him either.

At 1st, she was pissed Tapion walked away without even sayin thanks after coming outta his Music Box.
I'm sure she wasnt happy with Trunks going after Tapion either. Yet, she somewhat felt it was alright cuz Trunks looked at Tapion as elder brother. Cuz he never had one. Bouts of loneliness. Just like Bulma. She relates & kinda understands his point of view
But it was when both decided to talk (Tapion's background & his turmoils) that she really showed friend-like compassion. As if creating an artificial sleeping chamber, similar to Tapion's Orb Ball/Music Box wasnt enuf. Bulma was gracious enuf to even created Time Machine for him to return back safe.
Now, if you ask me which character impacted Tapion most, its undoubtedly Trunks & Bulma.
Z-fighters may have fought Hiru & Goku was the one who finished Hiru. But its superficial. More like collateral damage.
Bulma & Trunks compassion & love changed Tapion's character. Like coming frm tragic world bein ravaged by magical beast, seperated frm sibling for countless years. Having to spend goddam life in his freakin BOX!!!
Came out & tries his best to prevent imminent doom. All that & how dafuq yoi expect his behavior/attitude to be "normal"?
Yet, by end of M13 Tapion was as "clear" as Future Trunks was post-saving his time-line from Androids & Cell
To all involved I am sure it was meant to be a platonic relationship. Since romance is so scarce in dragonball, I can see why simply talking to another character alone in a friendly capacity can be seen as a romantic ship by the fandom. It wasn't meant to be anything romantic/sexual, of that I am sure.
I never got any kind of vibe that Bulma was interested in Tapion at any point in Wrath Of The Dragon. Sure, Bulma is the flirtish type, but as far as being interested in Tapion goes, nah, I didn't see anything resembling "a girl looking at a boy she likes in high school."

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

Bulma has been incredibly obvious on the occasions she actually has flirted, so I don't think anything subtle like that would even be in-character. I think you're looking a little bit too much into this. Not to mention she's probably old enough to be his mother.
