Now this is my understanding from the film when I watched the Japanese version. I don't think when Goku's cry as a baby traumatised him or embarrassed him but the cries were heavily embedded in him as Goku cried for hours and hours non-stop, they were dormant in him. Broly's Saiyajin traits were suppressed (his will to fight etc) but when he saw Goku, it reawakened his Saiyajin instincts and wanted to fight Goku (the cried emerging) but the point is, seeing Goku reawakened his instincts.
I remember seeing in the subs, Paragus saying something like 'Did seeing Goku reawaken his instincts' or something like that. I think his real hatred begins in his second film where his sanity literally breaks (his power already made him go made mad) and the only thing that is limited to him in his speech is Kakarroto. All he can think about is his revenge against Goku (that might have been where the trauma and embarrassment came not in the first movie), he can't even tell apart a child looking Goku to an adult (the real Goku who is an adult).
Did you agree or disagree?
