So, if we were to hypothetically consider that each of you were the author of Dragon Ball and you had just finished writing Super Saiyan Goku defeating Frieza on Planet Namek ... where would you go next with the series?

The rules for this are: 1) You can introduce any new characters you want, but cannot change anything that has happened beforehand. 2) You can't end the series here (I know many people have opinions on when the story should end, and some say after Frieza's defeat. For the sake of entertainment, let's agree that there will be at least one more arc). 3) Goku is still the protagonist but is allowed to take a back seat if you chose to do so.

Some of Freeza's top soldiers attack Earth in revenge for his death, hearing that Goku isn't there. Goku isn't available to help. Vegeta sees no reason to stay on Earth and leaves, leaving the lesser Z-senshi to fend off the invaders. The boss of the invasion force is ultimately defeated by Piccolo.

Basically a story arc letting the other characters get to shine more.

That sounds awesome, and could also work as a fantastic prelude to the events of Resurrection F.

I'd only really want a very good explanation on the androids for why they strong they are

Try to give one or two or more good reasons why they're so strong. I can't really take infinite ki generators as answer. It'd be cool if Frieza's mech stuff was reversed engineered and stuff.

I'd have a small mini arc a little after. Some evil space pirate group that has been taking over Freeza's bases on the many planets that he owns after its assumed by a good majority of people that Freeza has died would be the main antagonists. They eventually find earth through one of King Cold's planets tracking devices that was abandoned due too not having the resources necassary to fix Freeza. They learn of how much life it has and how the people who took down Freeza and his men reside there so they head on over.

All the earthlings have been wished back and the Namekians are still there as they still need to find a proper planet(Idk I need some excuse for them to be there) and Vegeta has already left to find Kakarotto. When they invade the fodder minions are defeated by the few Namekian Warriors led by Piccolo(who also tells all the major fighters who to combat) and surprisingly even Yamcha shows some skill at commanding soldiers and even defeats one of the battalion leaders showing off the results of his Kaio training along with Tenshinhan and Chiaotzu with Ten-San even showing his ability to use Kaioken x2 and putting his assassination skills to use once more and Chiaotzu using his psychic abilities mixed with some actual assassination techniques he learned from the Crane School to defeat his guy.(Can you imagine a bloodlusted Chiaotzu? ) It would be cool to have Roshi and Yajirobe there too.

Piccolo being the strongest of coarse fights the captain of the crew. Kuririn and Gohan do a tag team match against the second and third in commands and emerge victorious with Piccolo also winning after a well timed Makankosappo. Everyone celebrates and the Namekians praise Piccolo on his leadership and how he was worthy of becoming one with Nail. Everyone is proud of themselves and it ends with the Namekians leaving after finding a perfect planet(which I assume Kaio would find for them). I also have some more ideas but this is good for now.
