Broly Saga DVD Box Set (Now with box art)...

Post by Tanooki Kuribo » Wed May 17, 2006 9:21 pm

So, what do you people think about them skipping movies 7 and 9 in favor of creating a "Broly Saga Box Set"? I think it's kind of odd because now where are movies 7 and 9 going to go? Are they going to come out with a movie box set without Brolly? What the Hey? I Didn't think they would ever do this...

Brolys my favorite! Even though I can't spell his name properly, and yes if you were wondering I am a fan boy.

Yeah that movie box sounds pretty cool. No one even likes movie 9 anyway. Bojack what?

Wow, that is a stange move...

On the one hand, you have all your Broly in one box...

On the other hand...

Well, the other hand it empty, because only Broly is in the box set...

That's pretty...weird. Are you sure it's official?

Brolly dosen't really have a saga but thats clearly how they want to market it. If they didn't want to (market it as saga) they woulnd't have skipped movies 7 and 9 and just made a movie box set.

Wow, I see this as a waste. I would never buy a box set like that. Maybe if I knew nothing about DBZ I might consider it. Why dont they just throw in movie 9 and have it as a box set then? Oh well, have fun milking the masses Funimation.

Maybe they want to keep a theme going on?

Movies 1, 2, 3 'Ultimate Uncut' movies. ( Most likely will be done )

Movies 4, 5, 6 The movies that deal with Space mutants/beings. ( Done. )

Movies 8, 10, 11 The Broly set.

Movies 9, 12, 13 I don't know what they would call this box set.

That's how I think they're gonna sell the movies in the future.

I think that's a pretty cool idea. Broly is the only villain that appears more than twice in the movies series. Hell....they might as well make a Cooler box set while they're at it. I'd buy them. It'd be cool if they included both the Japanese and English versions too.

Well FUNi did make the DVD Movie Box Set containing Movies 4,5,and 6 with the English dub & Japanese version w/ subtitles if that counts as a "Cooler Movie Box Set".

If I remember correctly, movie seven didn't get included in a box set, correct?

They're simply bringing the Broli boxset out to put all three of his movies together, like they did with the Coola movies (though they pretty much threw in movie four just so people would buy the damn movie).

I have a feeling they'll put together movies 7, and 9 together , and 12, and 13 together. I am just literally guessing here. =P.

Just a tiny bit off topic, but..what they REALLY fricking need to do, is bring out a Frieza saga box set already, jeez. They don't even have a display box for that saga either.

I have a Freeza-saga box set...

It's old-school VHS though... probably not what you meant.

He's refering to the lack of a DVD boxset for the Freeza saga. :P We've had VHS boxsets for Ginyu and Freeza, but nothing in terms of DVD.

I guess I'll have to get this now. *sigh* I'm not as unfortunate as some, but I have already gotten movie 8. I guess I'll send it in for the podcast, if I'm not too lazy to mail it that is.

FUNimation included both versions (somtimes more) in every DBZ saga.

Despite the fact I already have these movies on DVD, I may as well go for it and buy this set when it's released. I'm hoping it gets a $20 release, shades of the DB Movie Box. Basically, purchasing FUNi's sets is my way of having my own box-set movies collection. I already have the DB 2-4 and DBZ 4-6 movie boxes, may as well get this one. Though skipping movie 9, considering it flows pretty nicely with movie 10 in terms of Goku returning from the dead, I wish it wern't snuffed off. Look at DBZ movie 4, it was included in a set that looks like a Cooler saga set. >_>

Which makes me think we're overdue for a compilation of some sort on those sagas on DVD. C'mon Funimation! Boxset re-release!!

As for the Broly boxset, unless the box itself is quite nice (doubt it), I won't be picking it up since I already all of those movies.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.
