How do you feel about the yearly games coming out in the October-December period again?
I'm happy that Xenoverse 2 is getting an October release rather than a release earlier in the year. Largely because it brings back memories of all the great DBZ games we got for the PS2 year after year around that period. Over time I came to associate the whole Halloween-Christmas period with a new DBZ game getting released, and have much fondness for that time of the year as a result. Budokai 1-3, Tenkaichi 1-3, and Infinite World were all released around that time of the year and I remember the weeks being filled with increasing excitement as I eagerly awaited the release dates. Something about having recent games come out in spring just hasn't been the same for some reason. Call me nostalgic but that's just how I feel.
How do you guys feel about this? Are you glad we're making a return to tradition? Or are you indifferent?

I actually wish Xenoverse 2 was coming out sooner.
It seems like a good idea development time wise. If it helps the games to be better, then by all means, make it later. I have the previous game (as long as it was good) to hold me over until the next one.

I'd prefer a bare minimum of two years for developing any sequel. If it doesn't get that time, either delay it or sell the new release as an expansion pack. XV2 is giving me a heavy expansion pack vibe instead of a true sequel.
Now, if this is a New Vegas type situation where the glorified expansion pack totally skull fucks its predecessor in every conceivable way, I'll let it slide.

When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

It doesn't matter when they come out as long as they're ready and not lacking content.
I'd rather them get a full 2 years but if they can get it done in less then I have no reason to be against it.

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! came out Oct 6th, 2005 then Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! Neo came out Oct 5th, 2006 big improvement from the first one.ekrolo2 wrote:I'd prefer a bare minimum of two years for developing any sequel. Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! Meteor didn't feel like a new game it felt like a expansion pack, with more characters and, stages.
I hope Xenoverse 2 has good improvement like Sparking! to Sparking! Neo.

If DIMPS can handle that kind of schedule, then yearly games would be fine by me. But I'd much prefer they take at least two years before releasing games just to make that any issues are completely ironed out.

I'm with everyone else that sequels should take at least two years to improve, but to me, XV2 is just fine. It's only over a year and a half. The fighting system is different, there are more combos, and the customization for the CaC have more depth from what I've heard.
