My guess is they'll update it as it gets closer; Precure series reboot each year, they're not gonna have the ones they have now there in 2020. I'm not sure how popular Yokai Watch will be in four years either. I heard it was on the downswing.

I think even if Super is over by then, there'll still be Dragon Ball stuff on the new Olympic merchandise; the whole evergreen aspect.

For Super to still be around four years from now with new episodes I hope not. I'm just glad to see DB is going to be a part of it and makes me want to watch it now. It's tough to say if this is simply because of Super or just because DB's impact on Anime and manga in general.

You hope Supes is going to still be a thing in 4 years time? How come? I mean OP has ran for an age don't see why the same can't happen here. We'll get our ups and downs in terms of arcs like most anime, it'd be awesome if it's still running in 2020.

It's very very very hard to figure DBS will continue up to 2020.
Three other years of... what, exactly?
I learned english listening to songs. So I don't know anything about. The day you had to learn play piano by just listening .mp3, you'll understand.

The 12 universe tournament could easily last 70 episodes/ 1.5 years and there is also 12 universes to have stories in, so it is not hard.

New stories?
Dragon Ball is making lots of money right now and Toei will probably keep Dragon Ball on the air until it isn't making enough money anymore. Even if Toriyama leaves they'll probably just keep going.

DBS could easily have like 600 episodes just like with pokemon, dective conan, one piece and yuigoh if they wanted it to lol

they could just make 100 arcs based of universe 6 alone and we HAVE NOT EVEN got started to explore the other universes yet.

Not to mention things like the demon realm.

They can also slow down the pace of their arcs from what it's been so far, even the current arc seems like it will be longer that the previous 3. For sustainability they should probably shoot for at least 20 episodes per main arc, with some going upwards of 30-40 episodes or potentially more if they have enough content for it.

I agree, I love the pacing of this arc. But I find it funny that people cannot see DBS lasting a long time when they have 12 universes to work with and they could make just like 80 arcs based of just one of the universes. When things like One piece, Dective conan, Pokemon, Yuigoh, Naruto, Sazae and Doraemon does it fine and they take place on a single planet.

Yeah my comment was based on what exactly would they continue to build off of. Don't get me wrong OP and others can have multiple episodes but a series like this where most of the characters have become just a after thought it be hard to keep up for that long. Besides they would have to expand after end of Z if they plan on something like that.

I don't think the two are exactly related. Dragon Ball continuing until 2020 isn't that unlikely. If they don't test Mr.Toriyama patience, keeping him happy and developing filler arcs in-between his story's to give him time to write at his convenient pace.
Mr.Toriyama isn't a necessity for Super to continue but the moment he leaves, I give Super a year, maybe year and a half.

Since Super is likely to keep going for awhile it's probably more of a matter of when they go past Z, not if. Fingers crossed for the next arc. There is tons of potential for new arcs though, we have 12 Universes, 6 destroyed Universes that could come into play somehow and we still haven't touched the Demon Realm.

the old characters outside of the Kais,Bulma,Vegeta, future Trunks, pilaf gang and Goku are done and will just be replaced by new characters. that happen in the first arc in z and it became one of the most successful anime of all time and had 296 episodes

Infact Naruto did that with Shippuden and Shippuden currently has 471 episodes.

Reasons why i believe that Dragonball Super will still continue in 2020

1. Hit & Goku will become friends later

2. Cabba will replace Gohan in future

3. 12 Universe

4. Top 5 fighters in the universe (we have only seen Daishinkan)

5. 10 other gods

6. Planet Salad

7. Planet Earth in Universe 6 ( I believe Goku & Co will live there in future maybe Zeno destroys the other earth..i have a feeling that Beerus knows that and wished the earth back not only for
Champa think about guys

It's the top 5 fighters in all of the universes, but yeah, there are a ton of things they can do with just what's been set up right now and they can continue to set more stuff up.

I mean it would be nice to see don't get me wrong because I would enjoy a lot more of this. But OP and Naruto both had massive filler episodes and DBS could do the same. But again if I'm proven wrong I would be happy. I guess we just have to wait and see.

Dragon Ball is an iconic enough series at this point that it probably doesn't matter whether it's still airing in 2020; Gokuu has achieved mascot status, so his image can be used without it having to relate to Super. So while this doesn't really indicate that Super is planned to continue airing for at least four more years, if it continues to be profitable, and Toriyama/the staff wish to keep it going, they could certainly do it.

I can see dbs airing in 2020, as Long as the plot/animation/music keeps improving, and it's popularity and merchandise as well, we 'll have dbs for a long time. I mean with 12 universes, Toriyama could create plenty stories, even some with a new cast.

Now that i'm thinking about it, what if dbs had an arc about a war between universes? And the arc started airing at the same time as the big war of one piece began? It would be pretty funny wouldn't be? XD
I really miss ma boy, Black :(

I feel the same way that there will be a universe war....Whis said that there are other gods who are more violent that means something... i can imagine Hit,Whis,Beerus,Goku and Vegeta vs the gods
