What if when Toei & Akira took some inspiration from other animes

A universal war doesn't have to be inspired by One Piece to happen. War is such a basic concept that if it's inspired by a particular anime, the parallels have to go way deeper than that. The war arc seems inevitable, though, given that Super becomes a long series. So we can probably look forward to that.

What I'd personally like to see is a group of villains with inspiration taken from the Pillar Men (JoJo Part 2). These nigh-indestructible beings with strange abilities make perfect examples of bad guys that are really tough to beat. You can even include a pre-arc where someone takes the role of Part 1 Dio and appropriates the actual Big Bads' powers, becoming a sort of weaker version of them, but that's not necessary.
