Path to Power
Yet another question i hope someone could answer for me. I wanted to know if dragonball movie path to power had a special intro to it, or was it just the GT intro? Was seeing if it was worth the purchase because i think the movie outros are pretty cool, and the intro mystical adventure has is nice

Also...Path to Power has no opening animation. ^_^
I really, really need to get back into the habit of posting.

Why would Path to Power have the GT intro? It's a Dragonball movie.majix101 wrote:Yet another question i hope someone could answer for me. There is no better combination in the world than Dragonball, Cherry Pepsi, and Cheez-Its. It's a proven fact.

Well, it was made after GT was finished as a 10th anniversaary special, so that would kinda make some sense. Anyways, yeah, it was no intro, but its outro is DANDAN (GT's intro song)._Jrinu_ wrote:Why would Path to Power have the GT intro? Personally, I think it's worth the purchase, since it's a pretty cool "what if" retelling of DB, and it has the detailed drawings of the GT animators, so tat's a pretty boss bonus.
Just don't buy it on VHS like I did. Sacrifice some extra bucks for the JP and FUNi dub.

It wasn't done after GT finished; it actually showed up between GT episodes 4 and 5.DaemonCorps wrote:Well, it was made after GT was finished as a 10th anniversaary special, so that would kinda make some sense. Majix, the DVD is definitely what should be purchased, don't bother with the VHS. However, if you're sensitive about "perverted antics", then there's always an edit-only DVD out there. I believe the Japanese version of the DVD includes Stereo Surround, alongside the Goku Jr. special's stereo audio; it's the only stereo DB item out there.

Uh..what? My DVD clearly says the Japanese version is in Mono. o_O The Goku Jr. special is the only one with stereo in Japanese.Conan the SSJ wrote:I believe the Japanese version of the DVD includes Stereo Surround, alongside the Goku Jr. special's stereo audio; it's the only stereo DB item out there.
You didn't watch the ending, did you?Why would Path to Power have the GT intro? It's a Dragonball movie.

Re: Path to Power
Someone here said it's in Stereo Surround. I'm too lazy to check my personal disc, so I'm not 100% certain. Though curiously enough, the back of the FUNi Path to Power case has the Dolby Digital logo (which I don't think any other FUNi DB/Z/GT release has).Tsukento wrote:Uh..what? It applies only to the dub. I have the same logo on the Fusion Reborn DVD case.Conan the SSJ wrote:Someone here said it's in Stereo Surround. Re: Path to Power
This logo is not on my copy of the Fusion Reborn DVD case, nor any other FUNi DB release I know of; except that of Path to Power. I popped in my DVD copy today to give the audio menu a quick glance and it doesn't say the Japanese version is in Mono. It simply states "Japanese version in subtitles" and "Japanese version without subtitles". Nor does it say it's in Mono on the case. Also, the dub on PtP doesn't have a 5.1 counterpart. Rather odd to put that type of logo on a FUNi disc that has regular stereo for just the dub, and disregard it for any other release that does have 5.1. If any other releases do have this logo, please let me know; my copy of Fusion Reborn certainly doesn't. I'd scan the back of my PtP case to point it out, unfortunately, no scanner.Tsukento wrote:It applies only to the dub. I have the same logo on the Fusion Reborn DVD case.

Look on the bottom corner of the Fusion Reborn case backing. You'll see the Dolby Digital logo in the small box with all the info.Conan the SSJ wrote:This logo is not on my copy of the Fusion Reborn DVD case, nor any other FUNi DB release I know of; except that of Path to Power. Here's the thing, though. Dolby Digital doesn't exactly mean it's for Stereo only.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolby_Digital
It says there that it's pretty much a mandatory thing to be placed onto DVDs for the audio and that it also supports mono. The logo can also be seen on a DVD player that's playing the R2 Dragon Ball Z DVDs, which are all in mono.
Pretty much everything, including GT was recorded in mono. The GT TV special is the only form of Dragon Ball in Japanese that has stereo sound.

It would seem as though I was wrong, though it's not entirly my fault. I found the post that referred to the 10th anniversary feature containing Stereo Surround. I suppose Mr. DBW was referring to the Dragonbox remaster. Though now that I know I was incorrect about this, he must be mistaken, as DB-in-Mono can't be remastered into stereo. Well'p, let it be known to all: the Goku Jr. special is the only DragonBall episod-ic/feature in Stereo.
