How the Black arc should have ended!
How the Black arc should have ended!
This is my alternate ending, starting from the beginning of episode 66, where Goku is firing his kamehameha at Zamasu. Zamasu should show his overwhelming power by catching the kamehameha, and tossing it right at Goku. Goku is almost dead, so he brings out his ace in the hole. He goes Kaioken x20, and shoots a direct hit into Zamasu's face. He doesn't even budge. He than realizes he needs to fuse with Vegeta, and does so to form Vegito. There is no time limit in my version, so we have a long Vegito Vs. Zamasu fight that lasts at least two whole epsiodes. Vegito destroys Zamasu consecutively, with a slight comeback for Zamasu at the end when he rages about mortals overachieving gods. However, he is then put in his place by Vegito. However, Zamasu mimics the Mafuba just like Piccolo did, and Vegito gets sent into a container Zamasu creates with godly light. Vegito unfuses in the Mafuba dimension due to the same reason he did inside of Buu, but Goku and Vegeta break out just like how Super Buu escaped the time chamber. Goku then begins to form a multiversal spirit bomb, summoning energy from all 12 universes. Meanwhile, Vegeta and Trunks fight merged Zamasu in a desperate plea to detract him from Goku's plan. Goku throws the Spirit Bomb at Zamasu, and it appears he has been defeated. However, he appears out of nowhere, saying he learned instant transmission from possessing Goku's body. Then, the episode starts off where the end of episode 66 did. With everyone's support, Trunks absorbs the radiant energy of the dissipated Spirit Bomb, forms his energy sword, and cuts Zamasu in half. He dies not because of some random clash between bodies, but because the Omni-Kings energy was included in the multiversal Spirit Bomb. This is my version of how the Black Arc should have ended.

The main villain of the arc just got sliced in half by the biggest mary-sue since Kirito... I'm pretty sure at least the main action has ended. I'm not talking about the cleanup stuff, just the final fight. That's over.Sonicjamareiz wrote:Uh the arc has not ended yet...

That is an interesting story. I think to have all that happen it would take 5-6 episodes. That's how Super should be written, intense explosive action mixed in with natural progression and logic.
My only problem is the "Multi-Versal" spirit bomb is something that a lot of people would call an "asspull" move. You can't take Genki from all 12 universes' inhabitants the charge time would likely take days lol. I doubt can Zamasu do the Mafuba...and what about the seal? They still don't have one...yet.
Re: How the Black arc should have ended!
In GT, Goku's universal spirit bomb didn't even a half hour, and this is only 12 times that. I'm not sticking up for GT, but nobody considered that Spirit Bomb an asspull move, they considered it a good ending to a mediocre series.MagmonKai wrote:hold3n wrote:This is my alternate ending, starting from the beginning of episode 66, where Goku is firing his kamehameha at Zamasu. A six hour charge time is still pretty long in a fight that literally can be over in minutes...I doubt the enemy would sit around for that long. That was my point, the charge time should be ridiculously long.

Re: How the Black arc should have ended!
The scenario LightBing envisioned for how the Future Trunks arc should have ended is just perfect:
There's no hope, Absolute Zamasu is a being unrivalled. Not even Vegetto can match up to him. Trunks in desperation thinks of what would happen if he fused with Absolute Zamasu. He asks Vegetto to allow him the opportunity and successfully fuses with him, diluting his immortality. He fights to control this new fused being, after willing himself to take over for a few minutes, he injuries himself greatly and asks Vegetto to finish him off. The only way to win. Trunks sacrifices himself and saves everyone, unfortunately the Dragon Ball can't bring him back. His timeline finally has peace.

Goku should have had his hand raised when the spirit bomb was formed.

Goku had traveled the universe before using it, so it was a nice touch to see the aliens he helped give back to him. A 12 universe spirit bomb is a bad idea, at least at this point in the story, where we don't know what's out there. There wouldn't be any plausible way for Goku to get energy from all the universes either. Also, most mortals and gods are dead in Trunks' timeline anyways. The rest of your idea ain't too shabby though.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super
Re: How the Black arc should have ended!
I wanted to stay true to Toriyama's original idea, so I thought I'd make a few tweaks instead of changing the ending completely. Hell, unless Toriyama was the one who came up with that one hour BS, this could be a perfectly plausible ending for the manga version. Zamasu probably eradicated the gods, but it would be cool to have a quick moment with the survivors on planets that Zamasu had ravaged give energy for the Spirit Bomb. As for king kai, we have the Supreme Kai and Gowasu, so I think at least one of them should know telepathy. When they had a sparring match with Zamasu in the Manga, the telepathy is also implied to work across universes. If you have a better idea (And I don't say this sarcastically) that stays true to the original, please tell me.fadeddreams5 wrote:Goku had traveled the universe before using it, so it was a nice touch to see the aliens he helped give back to him. Re: How the Black arc should have ended!
That's a simplified version of the term that differs from the origin of it (see here: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MarySue). Getting a power up and defeating the main villain is not enough to be a Mary Sue. Trunks was getting his ass kicked the hole arc before the last couple of episodes, he had self doubt, he grew complacent that SSB Goku and Vegeta were going to defeat Black without him needing to do anything, he couldn't save Kaioshin in his timeline, Black found and killed Bulma by following him, he had to see Gohan's life and be slapped by both Vegeta and his present self to get his shit together. He had to overcome some stuff, he wasn't perfect.hold3n wrote:And I quote ... A true Mary Sue does no wrong, is flawless and is admired by everybody for that. Being young, killing a guy after an ass-pull power up and people saying "good job, bro" is not enough.

Re: How the Black arc should have ended!
here's mine
After merged zamazu comes into place goku, vegeta and trunks all power up and fight but they're beaten miserably into the ground. They get knocked back into gowasu and shin and goku suggest fusion with vegetta. Shin says it's a good idea while gowasu opposes not knowing they have been fused before. Goku and Vegeta put the earrings in as nothing happens. Zamazu laughs saying mortals have no rights to use the tools of gods and this is justice. Goku and Vegeta ask whats wrong and gowasu asks them had they used the earrings before, in which they say yes. Gowasu says it's because you already fused and it's supposed to be permanent and that's why you cant use them again. Shocked goku suggest fusion but vegeta says he will never do those stupid dance moves. but goku and trunks convince him saying it's the only way to win. Reluctantly vegeta agrees (and goku teaches vegeta the steps again) and trunks and gowasu fight of zamazu to save time. Shin creates an energy barrier around goku and vegeta to keep themselves safe. Zamazu mocks trunks saying after he's killed them he's going to painfully rip mai and bulma limb from limb like he did his actual mother a few days earlier. Zamazu charges knocks and him unconscious leaving gowasu to fight. As trunks is in his knocked out state he begins playing his life back he thinks about gohan training him, going back and meeting his father, goku, and the other z fighters. His 1st time meeting mai, meeting black, and the kids, meeting his younger self and how they all motivated trunks to become stronger and overcome his limits. Trunks wakes up and begins transforming again, this time into a SSJ3 with ssj god aura outstretched over his yellow ssj aura. Trunks starts his assault of zamazu again and goku and vegeta call trunks a genuis for obtaining ssj god and fusing it with ssj3 and goku notes they need to finish quickly as trunks chi will drain fast at this alarming rate. Zamazu still mocking trunks uses god blade and cuts off trunks arm. But to his chagrin trunks uses ssj god power to restore his arm. They fight again as goku and vegeta perform the fusion flawlessly as trunks has been knocked out cold and as zamazu shoots the killing blow gogeta moves in and stops the blast and smiles. Gogeta tells zamazu he's going to erase him from existence as he has a dream he's fought before in hell (a reference to movie 12) and knows how to win. Gogeta (being cocky) wants to show zamazu how strong he is so he gives him a ssj lesson. He first transforms into ssj and the power he is emitting is shaking the space time continum as shock waves are felt in alternate timelines and dimensions, he smiles and goes ssj2 which can be felt in all 12 universes including the omni king's world as he feels to tremendous power he says he will go and see what's up with a sinister grin on his face. Gogeta turns SSJ3, as his electric golden hair goes down his as zamazu begins to freak at a mortal having power similiar to the grand priest. Gogeta says he isn't done yet and transforms into SSJ God now with goku and vegeta's combined hair into a reddish red aura, and finally he turns SSJ blue and the energy he generated alone destroys universes 1,12, 2,11 3 and 10 as his power sends shockwaves destryoing the furthest universes. They begin to fight and gogeta has the upper hand easily beating zamazu and taunting him at the same time. Just as he is about to deliver the finishing blow they unfuse (duh!) and zamazu begins beating the injured and tired goku and vegeta. Mai revives trunks with a senzu bean and he begins to fight again giving goku and vegeta rest. Goku begins charging the spirit bomb with power from all remaining universes but instead of throwing it at zamazu he channels the power to trunks as he uses it to slice zamazu in half and leave his immortal essence across the universe since he cannot die again. Just them the omni king comes and scolds goku and vegeta for using that power and as punishment will have to come "play" with him twice a month. As a service omni king restores the universes that were destroyed by gogeta's power and he remarks only he can decide which universes can be destroyed or not. He also restores the future super dragonballs and shenron is summoned. Trunks wishes to restore all those that were killed by evil throughout the years by various evil people including the son goku that was killed by the heart virus. So all the z fighters in trunks time are restored in future bulma and goku. Even future vegeta was restored. present vegeta threatens future vegeta to be a good man and take care of his family or he will be back. Present vegeta turns ssj blue and tells future vegeta to train if he wants to reach this level. Goku, Bulma, and Vegeta return to the present.

Super Saiyan God... Godly Ki... It's in the name. Hell, Black is technically is a god, not just a transformation. Also, about power from "everyone" That was like the few humans still alive on Earth, plus Goku and Vegeta. And considering both Goku and Vegeta by themselves could barely hold a candle to merged Zamasu, I think that "Spirit Trunks" could not one-shot Zamasu, if he is even able to compete with him.Luso Saiyan wrote:He never competed with gods.hold3n wrote:Low-Rank (Bitch he was an SSJ2 who somehow was competing with gods.)
Yes, you do. He received power from everyone, it's not an "ability" he suddenly got. And it was a fitting end for the arc.hold3n wrote:Saves the day through unrealistic abilities (Do I even have to say anything?)

Nice! Your portara retcon actually makes sence, and doesn't feel like an asspull. You prove a point in this, which is if they wanted a time limit, they couldv'e just used Gogeta. This is the kind of awesome feedback I wanted from this thread.jplaya2023 wrote:here's mine

Not on Trunks.hold3n wrote:Super Saiyan God... Godly Ki... It's in the name.
Yes, and? Trunks ended up losing every time.hold3n wrote:Hell, Black is technically is a god, not just a transformation.
"Few" being a subjective and broad amount. How many people are "few". How many are enough to give their energy to Trunks so that he could defeat Zamasu?hold3n wrote:That was like the few humans still alive on Earth, plus Goku and Vegeta.
Just like Trunks.hold3n wrote:And considering both Goku and Vegeta by themselves could barely hold a candle to merged Zamasu,
That's completely missing the point of the scene. There's no "Spirit Trunks". No "one-shot Zamasu". No "compete". That's the same limited, "power level"-logic of argumentation (or lack thereof). The mortals of Trunks' world were the ones who defeated Zamasu. Trunks was just the powerful vessel that absorbed every (mortal) living energy in that moment. The mortals, through Trunks, defeated Zamasu. That's it.hold3n wrote:I think that "Spirit Trunks" could not one-shot Zamasu, if he is even able to compete with him.
