I just got this game a couple days ago. Still learning the basics, but it seems rather fun so far. I found it interesting that one of Goku's aerial attacks is to use the Feet Kamehameha to propel himself into an opponent. Has anyone else played much of this game? I am using a gamefaqs translation guide to work my way through Story mode.
I guess I am just curious what others think of the game. Is Kenshin a playable character at some point though? I saw him in the manual. Also saw Vegeta and Piccolo from DB in there as well.

Yup, Kenshin is a playable character. He and Zoro have an awesome (but slow) Tag-Attack.
I completed the game last month, I beat every stage and mission and got every single koma. Unfortunatly, I'm not that good with the Dragonball characters except for 5-Koma Gohan.
The only deck I created and still use is my "Strawhats" deck.
It consists of:
5-Koma Zoro, 5-Koma Sanji and 5-Koma Luffy with 2-Koma Nami, 1-Koma Robin, 1-Koma Usopp and 1-Koma Chopper for support.
Luffy is my main (and favorite) fighter.

Yeah, JSS is really worth the import, however, you really should know somebody with the game. Like with most beat'm ups, the game will bore after a while with singleplayer, but always shines in multiplayer.
I've completed the game a long time now and still occasionally play it.
I don't like the 5-koma of Luffy, both his specials are kinda... hard to connect. Gum Gum Storm's start-up kick has no range at all, while Bazooka is easy to dodge.
I have several decks, but some combinations I like are Yusuke (5/6 koma) with the 2 koma of Hiei and Kurama of YuYu Hakusho (great offensively, special bar powerup), coupled with either a 'knowledge' or 'comedy' character.
And another strange deck of mine is the 5 koma Eve (Black Cat), 3 koma Train (Black Cat), 5 koma Ryou (Kochi Kame), 3 koma police officer in Samurai clothes (Kochi kame) and some heal koma's. It works quite well surprisingly.

I mostly use Luffy because for his combos.
Yeah, Luffy works great comboing, but still, I love the 6 koma Luffy so much more than the 5. Those attacks with the giant bell are fast, do good damage and can clear an area fast. I usually stick to 'manual' combo's and too many gang up at me, specials till they're all dead

I remember this. I beat it all in 2 days (because I am a geek) and I still play it. Everyone know how to make Goku's special super-effective and usually a one-hit K.O.?

I called this deck "げんきだま"
All the help komas power it up, and you get extra energy bars depending who touches Goku (that sounds wrong). For example, this deck has 16 energy bars right off the bat. Try it out.
If you don't have it, I would wait until 2 in December. That is also going to have WI-FI too, which the first game should of had.

Gokuu's Genki Dama is somewhat too big to use in some levels, it often hits things like crates around you when still powering up.
Another good deck is 4 koma Sanji + a lot of girl help koma. His attack greatly power up with his Up-X special, which depends on the number of girl characters in your deck. Add someone like Arale as your second character and you can inflict insane damage. (Sanji's powerup can also carry over to your other characters)

I LOVE this game, though I go through phases where I play it, put it down and play it again.
I personally like the 5-Koma Luffy. While I do agree Storm has limited range, once you pull it off and keep hammering X, it can do a lot of damage. I don't know if pinning the opponent against the top helps, but I would like to think so (it's how Luffy used it against Crocodile). I alos like the 4-Koma deck due to the X move (not to keen on the ^X ) and 7-Koma, especally for the X.
I have a number of decks, most of which based around characters from series I like using their combo attack, like Yoh and Ichigo, Zoro and Kenshin, Luffy and Jotaro. However my personal favourite is one I call "7 Power" which has Bankai Ichigo and Afro Luffy in it, with enough room for me to put in their "boosting" characters. Granted I've never used it against another human, but I can cream the computer with no worries.
I'm looking forward to the sequal, and while I would like to see more characters from Hunter x Hunter, Shaman King and Bleach, I do hope Franky and Gear 2 Luffy feature in it.

I want some new Rurouni Kenshin charecters. The Sakabutu No Yahiko(spelling?) manga short has been out in japan for a while, I want to see a younger/grown up Yahiko! My favorite deck would be my Kenshin Deck, but my Naruto deck is cool too. I win every match I play now. I haven't lost a match for a very, very long time.
PLAY B3YOND.
Yahiko is one of my favourite characters, so I'd also like to see him playable, especally as the grown up version. Shame it never became anything more than a one shot.
I just hope they do more to seperate the characters looks in the new version. I quite like the look of the Naruto cast 2 and a half years later, and I also like the Strawhats current Water 7 look, though I feel Sanji should have the orange shirt and waste coat look. If they were able to give Yoh an Armoured Oversoul for his most powerful form, I think they can do something simular for others. Heck, I'd love to play as Gear 2 Luffy for an entire match rather than pulling off the ability as part of a move.
