Kaio-Ken not used on SS, but on SSB?

In Goku's fight against Hit he uses Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-Ken.

Old Kai mentions that the Kaio-Ken works on SSB, and not SS because of stamina loss. However, Super Saiyan didn't have stamina issues since the Cell Games.

Now, we've all seen this episode. My question is: could we spin this in any way so that it doesn't sound like Toei and Toriyama forgot again? ... Sigh

Goku didn't have the required ki control to maintain Super Kaio-Ken in the Pikkon filler, so it's consistent as far as Toei is concerned.

This is why Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-Ken couldn't really appear in the Super manga even if Toyotaro wanted it to, because for whatever reason he thought it was a good idea to make Blue one of the biggest stamina-suckers around. (I find the manga immensely enjoyable, but it'd be nice if its inconsistencies with not just Super but also the movies weren't complete OPPOSITES.)

That's pure speculation. It could have been in the outline, considering both mediums say SSB is hard on your stamina, but the manga was curiously the only medium to follow up on that.

I believe the only reason kio-Ken worked with SSB was because God ki synchronized with the Kio-Ken.

It makes sense since Kio-Ken was made by a god.

Very true about not having SSB KK in the manga even if he wanted to.

But Old Kai speculates that SS couldn't take the stamina burn of a Kaio-Ken, but the SSB could because of its calm ki control. I'm confused, but how could this part of DBSuper work with the DB manga?
