What about the other Androids?
As we know in the show there are a total of about 10 Androids: Eighter, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, Gero, and Cell. According to one of the books (I don't know which ones) Androids 1-7 were simply failures, but what about 9-12? Were they destroyed, a failure, or are they still deep in the lab, waiting to be awakened? Because I would love some new Androids in Super.
Re: What about the other Androids?
Mercenary Tao might be one, assuming Dr. Gero built his cyborg half.

That's an interesting theory. He did come after Eighter so it is possible for him to be one of the four others.

A somewhat popular headcanon is that the pirate robot is one of his early models, specifically #2, due to the large number 2 on it.

Adrian Malacoda, I like that one even more. That would also explain why he was hidden in an underground Red Ribbon base. Apparently Dragon Ball Online also has it's own answer for Number 9. He looks like Commander Red but really tall.
Re: What about the other Androids?
Artificial Humans 9-15 are described as having one problem or another, but they were closer to the final models Gero would complete. The only Artificial Humans that were kept "sleeping" in the laboratory were 16-18 and Cell. Dragon Ball Z Movie 7's continuity features 13-15 in the laboratory though. If the possibility existed regardless, they would be destroyed during Future Trunks and Kuririn's mission anyway.
However, he's not designated as an Artificial Human. Gero developed 9-19 plus Cell after Red Ribbon was defeated. The assassin functions properly and can't reasonably be deemed a failure solely for his own weaknesses against the cast.
I'd like to think Tao Pai Pai paid Gero to enhance him despite support for the idea being nonexistent.precita wrote:Mercenary Tao might be one, assuming Dr. Gero built his cyborg half.

The robot that protects the hidden treasures in the pirate cave belonged to pirates of past generations. It doesn't seem too likely Gero was associated with them.Adrian Malacoda wrote:A somewhat popular headcanon is that the pirate robot is one of his early models, specifically #2, due to the large number 2 on it.
The cave didn't belong to Red Ribbon. If you recall, they fell for most of its traps. I would think Blue would contact his superiors to traverse safely through the cave if it were one of their bases. Both parties entered blindly.PotaraWarrior wrote:That would also explain why he was hidden in an underground Red Ribbon base.

#13-15 are consider to be defective in some way or another. I don't think they exist in any of the main timelines that we have seen. DBZ Movie 7 to me takes place in another timeline where #13-15 are not defective and are created instead of Cell.

it would be kinda cool to have some of those old androids appear in a filler, to be weak foes for the kids, similar to Abo and Kado
