I think is quite strange that Black only had one Pothala

Post by MisteryOne » Fri Dec 23, 2016 8:49 am

I mean, yeah, he gave his other Pothala to Future Zamasu, but since he killed Future Gowasu, they should have a new set of Pothalas. But for some reason Gowasu after dying dissapeared IIRC.

The point is that, in the end, Black having only a Pothala was pretty much useless to the story. Why do you think he only have one? Maybe by sharing a set with Future Zamasu he was giving him sometype of simbolic message? Maybe it doesn't have an in-universe explanation and Akira Toriyama just trough he would be cooler with only one Pothala?

What do you think?

What the hell is "Pothala"? xd

IMO, he looked very cool with one potara. Does it really matter how many earrings they had? You only need two to perform a fusion.

Edit. Oh, so it's Spanish :)

Yes guys, pothala is a thing
Image
He had to fuse with zamasu with using the potara of the same set, it's the most important element of story

I don't think it's strange... Future Zamasu had one on the same ear... I assumed Black gave it to him as a last resort plan off screen at some point after Black recruited him to his cause.

Black could have just given the other Pothala to Zamasu. My point is that Black needed the Pothala/Potara (now I feel unconfortable writing it :P) to travel to the future and use the time ring so he could fight Goku in the present (plot convenience), but Future Zamasu had one for apparently no special reason.

Future Zamasu had one of black because they had already plans of fusion beforehand..
You need same set potara to fuse hence black and zamasu had one each of a pair

But as I said Black could just have the pair and give one to Zamasu when they were going to fuse. I mean, he give it to Future Zamasu when they met, they didn't talk anything about a fusion, at least onscreen.

Yes, but when zamasu said mortals cannot be taken lightly, they went straight for the fusion and didn't discuss what can they do, it's implying they had it planned all along..
The story dosen't need to tell every detail beforehand, specially crucial parts like this, it's up to viewer to get the intended meaning

Please don't post giant images outside of spoiler tags, and more importantly, don't start quoting said giant image over and over.

It's not really very fun having to go through and edit your posts to fix that stuff.

Thanks.

He had one Potara because you only need one to use the Time Ring and you need two Potaras from the same set to fuse. Future Gowasu's would be irrelevant.

It's a common official Spanish spelling, I use it here as well. For me it makes sense, dunno xD.

What's a Pothala, is it a better Potara, that enables the fusion to be permanent... .

I don't think the "th"/"t" is too unusual. If I remember correctly, Gokû's saiyan name is spelled as "Kakaroth" in Italy.

That & Vegeta as "Vegeth", too.
