How many people are sick of Beerus?

I have to be honest here, I'm pretty tired of his character by this point. Back when BoG was first released, he was a fresh and interesting idea for the franchise, but I really feel like he's overstayed his welcome. Outside of killing Present Zamasu (which admittedly was a pretty cool moment), all he really seems to do these days is obsess over Earth food, and occasionally threaten Goku and his friends for some petty reason. The fact that he's strong enough to vanquish any threat that Goku and Vegeta will ever face also kind of saps away a lot of the tension of the series.

It just annoys me by this point how Beerus is such a major character in Super. I know that Toriyama is a gag writer at heart, but Beerus feels like a gag that's gotten really old. I kind of wish that either Goku or Vegeta would just surpass him by this point, so the series can stop placing so much importance on him. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon.

He will be surpassed sooner or later, the tournament will hopefully introduce new actually evil god of destructions who are powerful than berrus who could take the threshold higher..
Its opposite for me actually here, Berrus's character was a disgusting design to me in bog arc, he slowly grew on me over time, now I like his character a lot.. but I agree it's becoming quite odd he isn't surpassed even after these many arcs

Actually, i don't think Beerus would have been able to defeat Merged Zamasu. We have many subtle hints throughout Episode 65 that tell us Merged Zamasu might have been stronger than Beerus. For example, both Gowasu and the Supreme Kai stated that "by fusing, Zamasu's power expanded to no end" and that "Zamasu was beyond even their comprehension". Then, Vegeta said something along the lines of "I've never seen anyone with this much energy!". Goku himself aknowledged that Zamasu might have been able to surpass Beerus. I wouldn't say Beerus can just destroy all of Goku's enemies, i doubt he would have been able to stop Merged Zamasu.

I'm tired of Beerus' retconned superiority more than anything else. God Goku was supposed to be a good match for him, but we've come so far since then, and Goku and Vegeta, with Blue and even Goku's Blue Kaio-ken x10, still can't beat him? That's stupid.
And yes, it seems that most of what Beerus does these days is hang on Earth and eat food while being slightly threatening. The joke is getting old.

I think it's possible to solve both of these problems at the same time. By putting Goku and/or Vegeta as equal to Beerus (not stronger), their relationship with him would change completely. Beerus would have to change his attitude and would be brought out of his comfort zone, which is a pretty good starting point for gags. It wouldn't be the same as with Zen'ou, where Beerus is terrified and far inferior, but something else.

Sidenote about my fanfic: The very first thing I did was set Goku and Vegeta, as Super Saiyan Blue and during EoZ, as equal to Beerus in power. The reason is what I just outlined above, in addition to it forcing me to write villains that are actual threats.

I, for the life of me, cannot find any one single reason for <25% Beerus to stay so far above Goku and Vegeta at their absolute full power, other than because Mr. Toriyama loves him and/or plot reasons. I mean, SSJBKKx10 Goku should be 95% of Beerus at the very least.

And besides strength, the food stuff can be humorous, but it mostly gets really old. Why do we need to watch him and Whis worship something so tasty for 2-3 minutes every other episode? Ironically enough, I get the most enjoyment out of those scenes when they're closer to how it played out in #69, with him destroying Mashirito after being interrupted.

Beerus is vastly more experienced than Goku and Vegeta. Goku has SSGSSKK yes but it has a limit and Goku was unable to defeat Hit in that limit. All Beerus has to do is stall Goku out in that powerup and he'll mop the floor with him.

Also Beerus can destroy anything with the snap of his finger that means he'll always be above Goku and Vegeta.

They fixed the tension thing with Beerus in the last and reminded us that is is oh so very scary indeed. Yes he hangs around Earth all the time so what, all Goku and Vegeta do is train all the time. Is Beerus just supposed to sleep instead? What's the fun in that.

That's my point. The powerscaling has been ridiculous with him. Super should've retained the "nearly 70%" line from BOG. But hey, I'm not going to let one or two characters ruin my enjoyment of one of my favorite shows. I see no reason to complain without balancing it out with compliments.

It's especially baffling because back in 2013, Toriyama explicitly claimed that Goku as an SSJ God was about 60% as strong as Beerus, and the BoG movie even established that Beerus had to use 70% of his full power to beat Goku. If those stats were still consistent, Goku and Vegeta should be able to use Beerus as a toothpick by this point, especially since Goku can amplify his SSJB power several times over.

I was getting sick of the fact that he seems to serve no purpose other than being shoehorned in for food gags by the time F came along. I'm not sick of the character himself, because he can still provide entertaining moments and he has the potential not only for development but also for interesting plot lines, but they seem to do nothing interesting with the character at all.

Not me, he's one of my favourite characters, but i think he would work better if it was used more sparingly, and playing more with his dark side.

Maybe killing the show is an overstatement, but it certainly would suffer from it. It's already hard enough to come with believable threats for Goku and Vegeta, not to mention that that would crush even more the small hope of other characters doing something. And I personally would hate to see Beerus getting the Great Kaio treatment.

Exactly for a majority of the franchise it's always been Goku is the strongest in the universe and now he's a mere spec in the grand scheme of the Universe. Now he's not the strongest not even second third etc it's made things a lot more interesting. Like in the Black arc we saw how much they struggled and ended up relying on the King of All to finish the job. I also like how all of Goku's feats are minuscule in comparison to the likes of Beerus his long epic battle with Freeza on Namek, Beerus would have ended that fight in one second. Honestly all this vast world building has helped ground our hero's a lot and in my opinion has made DB on a whole a lot more interesting.

I feel he has been handled well this year compared to last year, the addition of Champa to the show helped bring more about Beerus besides loving Earths food and threatening people.

I dont know but I'm the only one that likes Champa/Vados more than Whis/Beerus, the dynamics in Champa/Vados work so well..

Beers is voiced by Yamadera Kou'ichi and his performance is fantastic and voice acting is one of the few things Dragon Ball Super and pretty much the entire franchise has been consistently good at, so hell no I'm not sick of him.

Beers has been entertaining to watch so far especially his reactions when something Zen'ou related happens or his dynamic with Champa. I also feel like Beers is Toriyama's new favorite character and the Toei staff also like him quite a bit. I don't mind him as a character either.

Beerus is possibly not even a top 20 fighter anymore. There's no reason to keep him as the bar to pass. And new planes of existence can always be created once the current ones are tapped out.

Not really. I like Beerus. However I hope more can be done with him. I mean I did like his small involvement in the Black/Zamasu investigation.
