No kid Goten and Trunks in next arc?

I think it's great that some of the old Z gang are finally getting some much needed screen time again, it's about time.
Especially Piccolo 18 and krillin I sorely missed since DBZ.

But what I don't get is that Kid Goten and Trunks are not going to be a part of it.
Aren't they some of the strongest fighters alive?
On the other hand they're still juveniles who probably can't take anything seriously and can be a liability to the team eventually.
But than again so does Buu., he's not really reliable either.

I still think they will play an important role in this arc eventually.
It wouldn't make any sense to leave them out completely.

It's probably because Masako Nozawa doesn't want to have to voice Goku, Gohan and Goten all at once. We'll probably see Goten and Trunks more if we get an arc where they are the focus and Goku and Gohan aren't around, or if Goten ages and someone else takes over doing his voice.

If there's a time skip in the next arc which is possible since when Z got "we gotta power" there was a big time skip, so maybe we'll get Teen Goten and Trunks but there's a rule in the tournament with age restrictment and as the arc goes on they'll break the rule to save someone.

They have nearly no battle experience individualy, Gotenks does and that is also one big battle, which he lost..
Out of Universe is the voice actress can't possibly voictwo 3 characters and all their dialogues..
That on the other hand, ensures gohan will have somewhat of a bigger role..

No, because they have to be teenagers by now.

Anyway, I feel they are leaving Goten and Trunks out because "there's too much Saiyans" with Goku, Vegeta and Gohan already.

They're effectively useless individually. Unless Gotenks was permanent (which is now impossible since it turns out the Portara is non permanent for non Kioshin) then there is no reason to bring them the likes of Roshi Tien are vastly more experienced. Chichi and Bulma probably won't allow them to participate anyway, if they didn't let them participate in the Freeza battle no way they would allow them to participate in an intergalactic tournament.

I'm kind of indifferent on it, if they participated cool whatever if they're not participating (like it seems they are) then cool whatever it's not like the focus is going to be on them much anyway.

Goten will still have lines from the crowd and I don't expect Gohan to do much speakinh outside of fighting due to Nozawa's voice. Beerus, Whis, Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin and Roahi will do most of the commentary.

Regarding Trunks and Goten, they are not good fighters and I expect all the other fighters to show in the tournament why they got chosen.

This makes me want to cry. I already know it's unlikely they'll give anyone besides Goku and Vegeta anything above a decent to abysmal fight, a few lines, and 5 to 10% of the screen time of the aforementioned two during this arc.

Between Vegeta fighting three of the Universe 6 members instead of either Piccolo or Boo to Goku being the one to fight Black when he first came back to the present, they have shown that the overwhelming majority of things revolve around those two even when it shouldn't.

I wouldn't worry too much, if toriyama indeed planned on making only goku and Vegeta relevant, he wouldn't go through the trouble and include all the fighters to make a team of 10, easily he could have gone with 5 man team..

From a writer's perspective, this is his biggest scale work yet on Dragonball, he would naturally want to give it his all

Believe me I want to believe you but you have to understand that I'm basing the negative opinions going in off of what we've seen so far in this series. I walked into both the Universe 6 and Future Trunks arcs with excitement as the first episodes passed, only to be disappointed in the end.
