Anyone feel sorry for Trunks?
Seeing how he's lost a lot of close ones in a matter of seconds, does anyone feel bad for all that he's been through?
Just a reminder, this post is made just after weeks after his character arc has finally come to an end.

"So, Where will you go for help next? The past? The future? And thus you continue to rebel against the justice of the Gods! All because of your mortal weakness!"
Trunks was doomed to fall. He was frail, too weak to take matters into his own hands, and thus kept seeking the help of others. Do i feel sorry? A little. But was it obvious Trunks was going to lose? Absolutely. What chance did he stand against a God, when he almost lost to two Androids? The Future Mutlverse's fate was sealed when Goku died of heart virus.

No, Trunks deserved it for all his ass pulls
Re: Anyone feel sorry for Trunks?
No, as he is meant to become a Time Patroller. As a Time Patroller, he can watch those whom he loves, from distance, but he can.

That's even sadder imo.Grimlock wrote:No, as he is meant to become a Time Patroller. As a Time Patroller, he can watch those whom he loves, from distance, but he can.
Disclaimer: I might get into a disagreement with you. Sometimes I might even get feisty about it. I'll never harbor negative feelings because of it though. I hope you feel the same way!Jinzoningen MULE wrote: Maybe I should start making it a point not to comment when I'm not sure of something. Too many people know what they're talking about around here.
I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Even more, he gets to watch the ones he loves die and die again. And some occasions he has to make sure they meet that fate so he can feel even more responciable, then the Supreme Kai of TIme and Elder Kai can be dicks about it.kinisking wrote:That's even sadder imo.Grimlock wrote:No, as he is meant to become a Time Patroller. Re: Anyone feel sorry for Trunks?
At the beginning of the arc, I was very much in the boat of "Why do we have to put Trunks through this again? This is awful."
By the end, I thought he got a much more meaningful ending than simply going back to his future and defeating the androids, a background element in the arc he helped kick off. Trunks is the one character so far whose story has, I think, genuinely benefitted from the addition of Super. I know no one agrees with me on that, but oh well.
He seems destined, unfortunately, to be the sole character whose strength has to be evidenced by the decision to pursue selfless, imperfect solutions in the wake of irrevocable catastrophe, but this arc played up the importance of that far more than his original appearance, where his motivations eventually took a backseat. Luckily those played into this arc too -- in allowing for the events that lead to Black's creation, in Trunks' verbal defense against Black and Zamasu, and in the emotions behind his interactions with characters in the present, which factor heavily into the ending.
I never want to see Trunks again, because I really think that was an excellent ending for him. Very unexpectedly so.

Re: Anyone feel sorry for Trunks?
Totally.
Future Trunks' story began with tragedy and ended ultimately in tragedy. Any hope or peace that Future Trunks has in his world doesn't last for long, and in the end, he loses everything has to start a new life in a completely new timeline.
Shaggy Dog Story incarnate.

No. Anyways, I'm positive Whis killed him and Mai off-screen.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super
