Let's talk about half-saiyans relevancy

Post by Shuby » Sat Jan 21, 2017 2:45 pm

We all know that Vegeta and Goku are full blooded saiyans thus they like to fight pure because they enjoy it or want to improve themselves by doing so. Yet with the half-saiyans, i can't help but to find them bland maybe except for Gohan because he has an established family and wants to spend time with them. Then again he does say that he wants to get stronger so that he can protect his family but does not follow suit in doing so. I am more talking about Trunks and Goten, what exceptionally have they done thus far? Why can't half saiyans have the perfect balance of having the urge to fight for self-improvement or for sheer joy and spending time with family or schoolwork? It always has to be one or the other which make Goten and Trunks completely irrelevant to the story. Why have these 2 characters going all out in the beginning then later becoming almost completely non-Existing? Again why have half-saiyans be one or the other i wish they could find the perfect balance so that even they can be important to the story.

Future Trunks is a half-Saiyan and a great character.

Akira Toriyama was able to do a lot with Gohan and Trunks the first children of Goku and Vegeta, but with the other kids Goten and Bra they were unfortunately overlooked and sidelined to background status. Goten was created only to achieve Gotenks with Trunks, which was cool back then.

It would be nice if Goten and Bra got more to do in the future, but I don't see anything happening for them now.
"Don't take pleasure in destruction!" / "I will not let you destroy my world!"
A true hero goes beyond not the limits of power, but the limits that divide countries and people.
