Where does this drawing (Minus-era Goku) come from?

Post by samuo2 » Fri Feb 24, 2017 5:22 pm

Since I didn't find any general manga thread I'm creating this one. The Moderators, feel free to move or remove it if it's necessary.

During Jaco Galactic Patrolman's japanese manga release, there was include the bonus Chapter called 'Dragon Ball Minus' which tells the story of Baddack's family just before the destruction of the Planet Vegeta.

To boost Jaco's manga sells they make the publicity of this Dragon Ball content, and like for a lot of other manga there was a kind of band around the manga to show publicity of other stuff, and here, we had this:

Although, this draw doesn't appear as a case of Dragon Ball Minus, and even less in the original manga.

I'm not sure that Toriyama draw this only for this little piece of paper.

Does anybody has seen this draw somewhere else?

I haven't seen this drawing anywhere else, but it's certainly Toriyama's art style (or at least the style he used in Jaco and Dragon Ball Minus). It wouldn't be at all far-fetched to say that Toriyama drew this just as promotional art.

I'm not entirely sure if that image of Kakarotto (& yes, that's Toriyama's illustration) was featured in promotional material. I am certain that the slip you're referencing is placed for the Super Elite edition of Jaco the Galactic Patrolman's cover.
