Can Goku still go back and use the power pole?

Last time I rewatched Dragon Ball, Goku used the Power Pole to travel to the Heavenly realm if I remember correctly?

Wasn't the power pole given to Roshi given to him as a gift?

I know I might have answered by own question but I want to double check.

I believe Goku had the power pole since the very beginning of the series. It's either implied or flat out stated that Grandpa Gohan gave it to him. As to if he could go back and "use it", I really don't see why not. It's not like it has a requirement for use, and it's not needed to get to Kami's place anymore.

This is the last time we see it used in the main story but Goku had it in Z's first movie.

kami means god. dende is the new god, so it's still "God's lookout".

but yeah, i suppose goku COULD use it... if he needed a weapon that works based on magic to fight someone from krypton... but that's just silly (LOLZ!). frankly, if he needed magic, buu does it better.

so yeah, it's not that he can't... it's that he doesn't need to. same for the nimbus. he can now fly faster than the nimbus without much energy loss (on a percentage anyway) so the nimbus is virtually useless.

as for weather or not he WOULD... i think goku prefers his fists and feet to weapons. just look at his fights. how often does he really use blasts?

Goku only ever used the staff when his opponent was using a weapon as well. Goku was never the first to initiate weapons combat.

Nothing ever implies that he can't go back and take back the Power Pole. He doesn't need it to get to God's look out anymore. But Goku probably doesn't see any point in going back and retrieving the Power Pole.
