Dragon Ball score in Dragon Ball Z media

I was on 4chan's /toy/ and saw a clip someone posted from The World's Strongest. To my delight, I noticed the score was the Dragon Ball intro! Does this occur in the anime at all?

Yes, the music that is used for the first deaths of Vegeta and Piccolo was first introduced in the original Dragon Ball when Tenshinhan prepares to use the Tri-Beam against Goku.

The first two DBZ movies tend to use Makafushigi Adventure as Goku's motif. The first movie in particular has an awesome bit when Goku and Piccolo team up that uses a combination of Makafushigi Adventure and Piccolo's theme. However, the DBZ TV series itself never used Makafushigi Adventure as far as I remember. As 8000 Saiyan points out, though, there are numerous instances of DBZ utilizing pieces of the Kikuchi score from the DB era. However...

That piece of music actually originates from the second Dragon Ball movie, The Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle.
Do you follow the most comprehensive and entertaining Dragon Ball analysis series on YouTube? If you do, you're smart and awesome and fairly attractive. If not, see what all the fuss is about without even having to leave Kanzenshuu:

Oh right, I forgot about that.

This BGM isn't the official Makafushigi instrumental but it does hold distinction as being the only Makfushigi variation of its kind produced in the DBZ era. Variations on the main themes began to die out considerably over the course of the series; in DB, variations on Makafushigi adventure were the norm while after the Saiyajin saga, variations on Cha-La Head-Cha-La had all but disappeared. I can only remember one variation on We Gotta Power.
"All of you. All of you must have KILL all the SEASONS!" -Dough (Tenshinhan), Speedy Dub of Movie 9.

"My opinion of Norihito's Sumitomo's new score is... well, very mixed. The stuff that's good is pretty darn good, but the stuff that's bad makes elevator music sound like Jerry freaking Goldsmith." -Kenisu

That piece of music actually originates from the second Dragon Ball movie, The Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle.
Actually a few songs that have the first notes of Makafushigi Adventure apear in the Z era Episodes:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIxQMaeLCRE (Goku Caught the Dodonpa!)

this piece from DB Movie 3 is used in DBZ EP 8 in the scene where Chichi and Ox King drive through the desert, on their way to Kame House. It should be the only time this piece is used outside of the Movie.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFDWPBv ... -OOHEWkxIh (Departingt the Island)

this piece from DB Movie 1 is used in DBZ EP 15 where Son Gohan sees the Ocean, on the Island he is stranded on.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDDyM7dYhkE (One Last Shot)

this piece from the Piccolo Arc is used in DBZ EP 18 before Gohan transforms again into a Ozaru, through the projected Moon from Gokus spaceship.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwQOfXI ... I&index=18 (The Kuma Mercenary)

this piece from way back in the first Arc is used 3 times in the Z era:

* On Fake Namek in DBZ EP 44 where Gohan and Krillin are Underwater with the Tentacle Monsters.

* On Real Namek in DBZ EP 73 where Dende is Flying

* At the Cell Game in DBZ EP 186 before SS2 Gohan starts fighting Cell.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77pIPKz ... C2178DE487

Only the first Song (H19, The Training Begins) in the Video counts, and the notes of Makafushigi Adventure are only used at the end. It is also from way back from the beginning and is used in DBZ EP 166, where Muten Roshi tells what happened in the 21nd and the 22nd Budokai.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8qR5BK ... g6HvzmOUZI (The Opening Ceremony)

And another ealier song from the beginning is used way way later in DBZ EP 287, in the scene where the Great Saiyaman and Great Saiyawoman apear.

That should have been all, if its not feel free to correct me.

I forgot this Song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxQ5ER1 ... g6HvzmOUZI (The Mifan Empire)

This mayestetic tune from DB Movie 3 had atleast 3 uses in the Z era:

* in DBZ EP 14 where Princess Snakes servants dance for Son Goku.

* in DBZ EP 20 where Kaio Sama wonders if Goku can master the Kaioken.

* in DBZ EP 47 where the 3 Namek Warriors arrive.
