So, If Gine Wasn't Much Of A Fighter....
What difference would it have made if she still had a tail? Would she even be useless just because she doesn't like fighting? Wouldn't her Oozaru form's aggression and her inability to control it (as a low-class Saiyan) overlap/compensate her natural passivity? And wouldn't her PL go up through it as well? Why is her being weak so significant while so convoluted?

She dose have her tail and yes she would be a bit useless. Is she is so weak and bad a fighting that Bardock had to keep saving here all the time the she cannot have been much use.
The Oozaru form alone can only do so much, Raditz as an Oozaru was only 15'000. Base Vegeta and Goku with just KK x2 were both stronger then him. Vegeta as an Oozaru is stronger then Ginyu and Nappa would be stronger then everyone but Ginyu.
If she is even weaker the Raditz, which give here attitude and fighting prowess thats more then likely, she is not going to be much help to anyone since she would be an out of control monkey with a pitiful power level i.e. not good to anyone except as cannon fodder and a big target of one at that.

Re: So, If Gine Wasn't Much Of A Fighter....
It just doesn't make any sense then if she was just so weak that even her Oozaru was useless in PL. By that logic she should never have been on the team let alone, repeatedly saved all the time when it only took Nappa one loss for Vegeta to kill him and for him to abandon Raditz. Gine being spared over and over seems ridiculous, and with the manga not showing the same team from the special (whether they were together prior or after this, or if they're even canon to Minus) I can't see why she would be there. As I said, they would know that from the start her PL was too low for service if they had a standard. Would they have Sent her away at birth if her potential was nonexistent or immediately keep her backstage for breeding? Do they even allow weak female Saiyans to procreate?Lord Frieza wrote: If she is even weaker the Raditz, which give here attitude and fighting prowess thats more then likely, she is not going to be much help to anyone since she would be an out of control monkey with a pitiful power level i.e. not good to anyone except as cannon fodder and a big target of one at that.
Uragh... Just nothing in Minus makes any sense.

Thats pretty much why I ignore it, I accept Gine as Goku's mother and here design but not her character. If a saiyan like her did exist on Vegeta she would have been banished or more then likely killed or sent to her death.SingleFringe&Sparks wrote:It just doesn't make any sense then if she was just so weak that even her Oozaru was useless in PL. If her power level is low, then even turning into an great ape wouldn't be of much use. Being a low-class warrior and not a very good fighter, her PL could easily be in the low hundreds.SingleFringe&Sparks wrote:What difference would it have made if she still had a tail? Re: So, If Gine Wasn't Much Of A Fighter....
Right, but if the Oozaru increases your PL by 10x, her being at 100 at best would make her 1000, and I can't fathom her just staying at 100 while active on the battle field. She must have had to get Zenkai boosts. Unless she was lower than 100 at most or that Bardock's team were fighting radically stronger enemies than average for their rank, it doesn't make sense why she would be there at all. Be it if her peak PL was 100 or if she was 100 from the start. Either way she couldn't qualify. Though the Oozaru consideration was from the implication that her personality got in the way. If thats all it was then that would have taken care of it. Though if its her PL that was the problem and she wasn't committed at all to training, then she really must be Tarble level trash. Toriyama writing her like this just gets in the way of so such reasoning here.BlueBasilisk wrote:If her power level is low, then even turning into an great ape wouldn't be of much use. Re: So, If Gine Wasn't Much Of A Fighter....
It all depends what she did and how long she was on the battlefield. Goku trained and fought for most of his childhood and was only at ~400 as an adult before his training with King Kai. We know very little about her career in Bardock's team or much about said team. It's entirely possible she was never injured badly enough to get a significant Zenkai. Especially with Bardock having to bail her out.SingleFringe&Sparks wrote:Right, but if the Oozaru increases your PL by 10x, her being at 100 at best would make her 1000, and I can't fathom her just staying at 100 while active on the battle field. It could be possible that she wasn't weak at all but that she lacked the will to fight battles and kill people which probably led to her being useless in battle.

If this is true, I feel like Toriyama probably forgot about Oozaru during the Namek saga.Lord Frieza wrote:She dose have her tail and yes she would be a bit useless. Is she is so weak and bad a fighting that Bardock had to keep saving here all the time the she cannot have been much use.

Actually, having her tail is an even bigger sign of her weakness. If she's that weak WITH her tail, just how weak would she be without it?SingleFringe&Sparks wrote:What difference would it have made if she still had a tail? According to the original Manga, a saiyan is stronger when they have their tail. It's not much of a boost but it's still noticeable at lower power levels. And from what we can see, Gine must have a pretty low power level to begin with.
Well, those who can't fight, right?

Re: So, If Gine Wasn't Much Of A Fighter....
Goku fought humans though who on average were weak like 10 or so, and by the end of the series I assume characters at the Tournaments were around 100-200 at most. If anything Goku was held back because of that. Where as Gine would be fighting characters at least as strong as Raditz. (You would think), if they were weaker than that, she would only come off as even worse than plausible, and her team couldn't have improved as much as they did to spark suspicion of them, if they were just PL grinding on weaklings.BlueBasilisk wrote:It all depends what she did and how long she was on the battlefield.
