The Daizenshuu states that he's a descendant of a tribe of three-eyed people, who themselves are descendants of aliens, and it goes on to classify him as an Earthling in the same sense that Kuririn, Roshi, Grandpa Gohan, etc are Earthlings.

Toriyama's only comment about Tenshinhan was that beings with a third eye in Eastern mythologies and religions were considered "god-like" and capable of amazing abilities. At no point has he ever said that Tenshinhan wasn't human or that his culture sees him as not-human.

Video games aren't exactly reliable sources of information

As mentioned before, the three-eyed people aren't themselves aliens, but some degree of human/three-eyed alien hybrids, with Tenshinhan being further removed from that alien lineage.

No one is arguing that he's distant descendant of aliens. However, he's so far removed from that ancestry that he's still considered human/Earthling like Kuririn is.

I would say we dont know how far Tenshinhan is removed from his ancestors. Its speculation. It could be generations or he could have been abandoned as a baby and is full blooded. For him to being to have the third eye, grow arms and divide himself which are all said to be abilities of his race. Then his genes must not be that diluted.

The book that sheds light on his heritage still matter-of-factly classifies him as an Earthling. That means we know that he's far enough removed to be an Earthling. There's no speculation involved there.
