I know this will mostly irritate people but I believe them and I think there might be hope for DB in Canada after all. There must be a way we let YTV know that CANADA WANTS DRAGON BALL BACK!

I absolutely love that I'm living in an era where people take 100% fluff corperate YouTube responses made by people with no actual influence in the company they're representing seriously.

Yeah I guess you are right. Still, that response, even if fake, makes me smile.

I really hope YTV act on this, if its truly how they feel about Dragon Ball. All they have to do now is buy and air the Ocean dub of Kai to end years of uncertainty, speculation and disappointment. Even if it doesn't do well (which probably won't be the case) at least they tried and everyone involved will be able to speak up right?

Man remember the Zone on YTV guys? That lineup was legendary with Pokemon, Digimon, yugioh, and Dragonball Z to top if off.

Has the complete Ocean Dub of DBZ ever been released on DVD?

I know FUNI released the first 53 episodes in that "Rock the Dragon" box set; who owns the rights to the rest?

Only the first 53 episodes of Dragon Ball Z, the Pioneer trilogy and BLT Dragon Ball dub ever got home releases. The Westwood and Blue Water dubs, which only ever aired on TV are theoretically still owned by AB Groupe in France.

People shouldn't place so much stock in the comment of someone just assigned to making social media comments. The upper management likely couldn't care less about Dragon Ball or whatever.

It reminds me of whenever Adult Swim would remove Inuyasha, and then many people would request them to re-air it, and whenever they would, the ratings would be so low since they weren't actually watching it. I imagine that would be the case if YTV started re-airing Z, since the series has been available on the cheap on home video for so many years now.

Now, if it was a way to get the Ocean dub of Kai on TV, then that would be a different story.

Currently, the best chance to get Ocean Kai aired is to get Kai aired in Canada; if Kai airs in Canada, it'll almost certainly be the Ocean dub. So, if YTV are willing to air Kai, then cool.
The point of Dragon Ball is to enjoy it. Never lose sight of that.

Exactly. Plus the ocean fanbase is pretty niche nowadays, and if they're anything like FUNi fans the Z VS Kai dub war would start all over again.

Oh my god, YES!!!!! We need it more than ever now! Children are growing up watching corny shit and discovering anime online now rather than watching it on TV. I'm sure there is a lot of potential interest here, and if my generation hates DB, then the next one won't because it will have a sufficient exposure to the franchise.

If they miss the Dragon Ball franchise that much, then they should just air the damn Ocean Kai dub. Sure, the Ocean Kai dub will cause the Z vs Kai dub wars to return, but I don't care. I want to see Vancouver's finest give performances that are just as great as the Pioneer dubs of the first three movies, and redeem themselves after the disaster that was the Cell-Buu Saga dubs. If the Funimation guys were able to improve with Kai, then people can bet my ass that the Ocean guys can do the same thing.
"It was deemed to be too awesome." - Scott McNeil on Dragon Ball Kai not being aired yet in Canada.
