Who was responsible for those fake leaks?
I really need some closure right now. I'm kind of uneasy with the whole 94-97 thing and I'd really like to know who made those fake leaks.
Goin' down to South Park gonna have myself a time

Why would any of us know who some random dude on 4chan or 2chan or w.e is?IntangibleFancy wrote:I really need some closure right now. I'm kind of uneasy with the whole 94-97 thing and I'd really like to know who made those fake leaks.
People make fake leaks all the time.

I do wish the leaks were true.

Re: Who was responsible for those fake leaks?
To be honest, it might have been someone from Japan because these "leaks" were translated from a magazine from there. Someone probably gave a tip to the magazine staff about the upcoming episodes and he/she submitted the fake evidence. The magazine published it then. We truly will never know who did this.
Re: Who was responsible for those fake leaks?
Give it a rest. You took it upon yourself to get invested in unconfirmed "leaks" that came from a dubious source at best. No sense being salty they didn't come true.

Unexpected response. I don't see salt, rather, see disappointment.MagmonKai wrote:Give it a rest. You took it upon yourself to get invested in unconfirmed "leaks" that came from a dubious source at best. No sense being salty they didn't come true.

Which part was fake? Was is the bit about Freeza joining another universe?
Re: Who was responsible for those fake leaks?
I don't know and we'll probably will ever know. I wish all this Freeza resurrection stuff would've been fake and Toei never had that stupid idea. But it's painfully real and happening.

It has not been confirmed they are fake. Only a title was different. But the synopsis is the same.

Official synopses have not been released. So far we only have the official titles, which are different from the leaksJulianStyles wrote:It has not been confirmed they are fake. Only a title was different. But the synopsis is the same.
Re: Who was responsible for those fake leaks?
A user in 2chan typed them up. It has happened many times in the past, however this one felt the most real out of all the previously fake leaks we had. Mostly, because the leaked stuff was actually plausible to happen.IntangibleFancy wrote:I really need some closure right now. Re: Who was responsible for those fake leaks?
I think the seemingly implausible double whammy of Freeza's back a dinosaur story for a 3rd time and I can't believe it's not Brolli happening has left us all more susceptible to fake leaks.
No way to trace back the leaks' author though, 2ch is very anonymous.
I'm disappointed the leaks are fake. I was looking forward to Freeza betraying them immediately out of the gate.

I'm looking forward to seeing Frieza hating every second of working for survival.

Re: Who was responsible for those fake leaks?
Frieza betraying a strong team of U7 Fighters he knows, only to join #LiterallyWhos in an Universe he knows nothing about, sure sounds "plausible". Just like a mysterious "HE" waiting for them miraculously already on the Tournament - The Great Strong Yamcha. Or Future Trunks who'd be violating time rules.Sodhi wrote:because the leaked stuff was actually plausible to happen.
Yes, because The Void is a place so easy to reach on your own. /s
These leaks were literally casual fanfiction tier.

Re: Who was responsible for those fake leaks?
Does it really matter who made the fake leaks? You fell for it really hard. That's on you. You should know better than not to trust anything until a real physical evidence is presented (i.e. magazine). I didn't trust it, neither should you.
I don't think this thread serves any purpose, other than taking anger off your chest.

Re: Who was responsible for those fake leaks?
It pretty much went like this:
- 2ch user posts summaries in Japanese
- GojiitaAF throws it into Google Translate and pastes it on his Facebook page
- Smugpup posts a proper translation on 4chan, while Ken Xyro posts his on Twitter
- Yamcha's voice actor tweets about recording a lot of lines for the character
- Confirmation bias leads many people into believing these leaks are real, and so it spreads across YouTube
- NewType scans release showcasing totally different staff and titles, but an almost identical title for #97 was featured, leading to more confusion
- Animedia apparently leaks and there are no Dragon Ball summaries at all this month
- Toshio Yoshitaka confirms the summaries spreading are fake
And that's about it, I think.
It's all a bit odd. Had the staff between the 2ch post and the NewType scans matched, it would be easy to say this particular user got the magazine early, changed some titles, and made up the summaries. That's not the case, so unless they deliberately made up the staff too (also a perfectly fine possibility), I'm curious as to how they managed to nail the title for #97.
Either way, it appears to all be fake. We won't know until all the magazines are out for real, but that's the general gist of things.
Lesson to be learned: trust nothing until you see the source with your own eyes (and ideally from multiple sources).

This is true. Every time a new plot update is revealed reactions are split. I think it's good though; different strokes and all.GodKaio-Ken wrote:See I feel the opposite. People will inevitably discuss them but having the Official Thread run over by fake news talk butchers meaningful discussion. Besides helping validate these people and confusing users who might ignore it, hadn't it be given so much attention. I personally feel it goes against Kanzenshuu great standards.
It's not a one time thing, last time Freeza's appearance turned to be true but the preface was the same. Dozens upon dozes of pages discussing something that might not be real. It's not the same thing as having scans from x magazine.
Maybe containing them in a Rumor Discussion thread, just a suggestion.

Re: Who was responsible for those fake leaks?
This is precisely why we don't cover this kind of "information" on our actual website (or even our official social media accounts), and the news that we do cover is stuff that we independently confirm through material that we actively purchase ourselves or can be validated through a trusted third-party.LightBing wrote:Could something be done about these rumours in this forum?
Ya' know, like a proper news outlet would do.
That being said, if we actively discouraged, nevermind outright BANNED, speculative discussions? That wouldn't exactly go over well.
What WE need YOU all to do is: Set an example. Self-moderate. Make posts that are worth reading. Be a responsible internet citizen and Dragon Ball fan.
