Has anyone else grown really fond of these characters since they first appeared? When their designs were first revealed I thought they were just quick fodder for the exhibition matches, a bunch of "mangly mutts" just for a quick fight. But I really enjoyed all their matches with Goku, Buu and Gohan, and I really find their personalities to be quite entertaining.
I also really like what we've seen of Basil so far in the tournament. I really hope these guys get some time to shine before getting knocked out, and hopefully they won't be erased.
Don't really care for Lavenda. Bergamo is alright. I think Basil is the most interesting both design-wise, personality-wise, and his abilities.
I do appreciate how they're not just throwing them to the side as characters that'll just get knocked off almost instantly and be irrelevant. Basil was pretty much MVP of the first minute of the tournament, and it seems like Bergamo will have his chance to shine in the next episode.
They're pretty impressive fighters and enemies for a pack of talking dogs.
"Don't take pleasure in destruction!" / "I will not let you destroy my world!"
A true hero goes beyond not the limits of power, but the limits that divide countries and people.
Not really, but they are a nice little group, who will serve as a good appetizer, until we get to the main course, the true 3-person group; the Kamikaze Fireballs
They definitely have an impression going on, I like all their abilities and fighting styles, Basil brings a lot to personality set, I like that Lavenda is a unhinged bastard! Brings charm. Bergamo has a lot of charisma too, especially his speech in the exhibition match.

I've liked them since I saw their designs. They're pretty unique for DB characters and so are their abilities. As soon as I saw them in the exhibition I've been interested in them since. I was just hoping they wouldn't be fodder in this tournament. They got to do some cool stuff in ep. 97 especially Basil, but they'll prob still be the first ones out. I think they still stand out even compared to the all the new fighters.
And Basil's in the history books, he was the first to eliminate someone from another universe.
Big fan of the characters of Dragon Ball, all of them, especially formerly prominent sub-characters. -__-
No, they are all terrible, just generic wolves designs, but, i enjoyed Basil vs Buu. I hope they can get a brutal ending, unfortunately, they can't be killed by other fighters. I would have great pleasure to watch Hitto and Frieza killing them, however, since they are weaklings the Earthlings should be the ones dealing with them not Goku and Vegeta.
Unfortunately I think they are getting screen time because they'll be eliminated in the next 2 episodes. They'll get some love again next week and show their power off against other does, but at the end of the episode they'll gang up against u7..then the 3rd episode they'll go down.
It's a solid way to go out imo.. gives them enough credibility as warriors at least.
I like their designs and abilities but they just aren't interesting enough, dedicating more eps to them should have been done there is barely anything to care about them, show what their universe is like do they have any loved ones to care about? Etc. Perhaps since it looks like they are gonna be disposed off soon maybe they didn't want to waste time on then?

They do care about their Universe by looking at episode 81 and each other and we already saw their apocalyptic Universe
i enjoy their quirks. Well.. at least in the regards for two of the three of them. Bergamo was really a more interesting character than I thought he would be and Basil's fighting styles is very unique within the scope of Dragon Ball. Don't care much Lavenda that much. We already have a poison user in Dragon Ball who is shaping up to be much more interesting in the grand scheme of the tournament. All of their designs are good, though.

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

Bermago's ability and his charisma are pretty good. Hell, I was rooting for him in the exhibition match, since technically there he's the GOOD GUY. "Please spare all the universes if I win, Zen-oh sama." and then Zeno agrees. And then Goku doesn't even give a shit about everyone dying providing his fight boner gets it's fix. Okay, we're past that now, but god damn that was an effective way to get me to root the opposition.
Basil vs. Buu was impressive and allowed Buu to look cool for the first time in a LONG time(possibly ever). His kicks are semi unique and I liked the Tree of Might reference in that battle. This latest episode, he's the first to eliminate anyone(someone who can FLY no less), nearly scores a second KO, and takes down Universe 3's BIG STRATEGY alongside Hit.
Lavender comparitively is...a little generic. He clearly has the biggest nasty streak of the three, talking about how he's going to kill Gohan and licking his lips and generally twirling his figurative villain moustache at every opportunity.
Looks wise, I didn't think much of them as they are a little generically designed(albeit I do dig Bermago's red heroic scarf), but there's something about the Trio I can't really hate. They're quite affable, much in the same way the Ginyu Force were; they're clearly a nasty bunch, but they care about one another and are slightly cartoonly villainous.

1. Goku (Universe 7) has eliminated 6 competitor & Vegeta (Universe 7) has eliminated 6 competitors

I was just saying the same thing. Sucks realizing it was the exact same thing that got me excited about him the first time but I don't care, his fighting style is so unique and I love it.
