I got V-JUMP Issue #4 from April 1993 via my last FromJapan/YahooJapan Order >
Super Butoden I was released >24 Years ago (OMG!) on March 20 in 1993, for the Super Famicom (Console Release in Japan: 21. November 1990).
The V-Jump Issue advertised the gamerelease intense, especially interesting:
- they printed 4 pages contextwise with Toriyama, Masakazu Katsura (Friend and Mangaka of VIdeo Girl AI etc.), Takao Koyama & Kōzō Morishita.
If someone could talk about whats going on on the toriyama/katsura/koyama/morishita pages .... this would be very nice
but also:
- a 4-page mini pamphlet
- Doublepage Ad
- 1 general Infopage
Please have a look at all mentioned:

That's a great find. Boy, the first Butoden was kinda ugly wasn't it?

Yes - It was, even back then it looked somehow clunky ...
Street Fighter II defined the genre allready in 1991 in the arcades, and was ported to the super famicom home console 10 June, 1992 ... So the blueprint was allready present for a good amount of time
But it presented some unique Features:
- SplittScreen / Flying / KI-Charge / Specialattack Button
At releaseday, the first anime broadcast in japan was between episode 178 and 179, were perfect cell fired his huge kamehameha .... A perfect timeframe to get fans hyped i think!

Definitely. I put in way too much time to this game playing it with my little brother before I found Butoden 2 and Hyper Dimension. It was always nice to see Doctor Gero and Imperfect Cell in this game though.

We have this as well, and it's one of the approximately 10 million pieces of material in our translation backlog

. I promise we'll get to it some day...!
