I think Hit's similarities with Piccolo are becoming more and more obvious. The stoic warrior who now looks out for his friends (Hit looking out for Caulifa), and joining with Goku to take out other universes.
If we're assuming most Universe 6 fighters are parallel's to Universe 7, (Caulifa is basically Goku, Cabba is Gohan, Frost is Freeza, Magnetta/Botamo could represent the humans as the weaker/comical fighters), then Hit is basically Piccolo.

Ur kidding right..... So wrong on so many levels.
Hit is not a babysitter like that filthy slug........mothers who leave their child with that green freak are out of their minds..... Hit is God level, while that tall for nothing green thing is weaker than everybody on his team except maybe the humans...... Even that is questionable..... The writers also never wrote vegeta fighting against the slug, because they knew it was beneath the mighty Prince...... Hit will fight vegeta so they view hit highly

There isn't any similarity between Hitto and Piccolo. First of all, Hitto is the strongest warrior of the universe 6 by a long shot and by saving his friends he is only being a great leader. Cabba is not Gohan at all, Kale is Gohan. Hitto owned Frost easily, he is a Hitman and Piccolo was only a Namek with evil intent before he got attached to Gohan. They both represent the same generic archetype of stoic competent counterpart to their more exuberant teammates. Such characterisations have been going on in the series for quite a long time, though. I do recall Piccolo being more arrogant and headstrong during his introductory arc. His facial features mostly failed to convey that collected disposition seen in later arcs or with Hit when he scarcely had a reaction to give prior to Goku and SSJB. Wasn't Hit's attire inspired by Piccolo from the Evolution film? I suppose he could also be said to represent a sartorial successor of Piccolo's, in one form or another.
If anyone was going to act as a U6 rendition of Piccolo then I would suspect it to be Saonel. Both are actual Namekians with Saonel bearing a strong resemblance to Piccolo.

I used to think that given their anti-social, no-nonsense and stoic personalities, but with the introduction of Namekians in Universe 6, I don't think so anymore.

Cabba looks vaguely like Gohan, but one could just as easily say he's a Vegeta as he knew the Galic Gun. He doesn't love studying as far as we know, and doesn't slack off his training. He isn't given some secret "Potential" to unlock.
Hit saved Caulifla once. That alone doesn't make him a mentor on the level of Piccolo or even a mentor at all.
Caulifla isn't as purehearted and dumb as Goku. Most Saiyans love battle and become stronger the more they fight. The similarity stems from those two traits being exaggerated in both characters.
Frost is definitely Freeza.

Yeah they have a lot in common...only Hit has a back bone and isn't a coward. Piccolo could get amazed by fire works on 4rth of July. Dude has lost all grip on reality. Have some bloody pride..i just want my son to be the best man he can be act is getting real old. If he doesn't get it together in this tournament he's done for. What used to be my favorite character is not even top 5 anymore.

Not at all
Aside from a solitary attitude, they're totally different:
Hit is the strongest being in his universe, an hitman feared by everyone ( even Champa feared him and Goku at the first tournament, could be for their menacing look tho) and who can easily beat every fighter, aside from Kk Goku and Jiren, and has some strong leader capacities, holding and protecting his team companions in great ways ( he saved many of them yet)
The other one... meh
Piccolo is the serious version of Yamcha, a punching bag loser who only serves as a purpose to motivate Gohan and as a warmup for the baddies
He constantly get trashed, at the point is almost a non character now
Something could change with those two namekians, otherwise is garbage
And I don't like this, cause I ever liked him a lot, but I almost have no more hopes now
