Spoilers for DBZ: do they exist?
Do spoilers for DBZ exist?
Spoilers like the ones we were getting for Super? (translated from Japanese magazines)
I think it would be very interesting to see what these spoilers were revealing about the episodes back then.

Just stream NEP (next episode preview) of DBZ in Youtube. You'll be baffled at its "spoilers" overloaded at its pinnacle
Even fine film as M8 that had the "suspense" factor as to who was the actual Legendary Super Saiyan, plus how the form in an exclusive, yet genetically bestowed state would looklike was spilled like beans right off the bat in NEP of Ep 176
Hell, TOEI even revealed final form of Broly (LSSJ state), along with Janemba etc

Yes. Magazines like Animedia and Animage have been around since before then, and have all the exact same fun issues as they did with Super at times, wrong episode titles included! And V-Jump was the same as ever, showing you the entirety of a Z movie before it debuts in theaters.
I've been slowly amassing a collection of this shit for a big project that I hoped to do before Super up and went away, so I guess it will make sense to have ready in time for whatever the next chapter may be in the future.
Lots of good examples of stuff contemporary with Z's original airing, later with Kai, and of course into Super. Look forward to it!

Back in the day in the 90's I followed Dragon Ball Z and was spoiled with final form Cell (Perfect Cell) on a pogs I got also spoiled with two or three things during the Buu saga.
Merchendising were most to blame and us kids would buy that without the time saying ouch.

Re: Spoilers for DBZ: do they exist?
In a broader sense there are totally spoilers for DBZ because there's a lot of information that is common knowledge now that, back when the story was first being rolled out, was treated as a mystery until a later reveal. My girlfriend for example has no interest in Dragon Ball, but knows Goku is an alien. It's the "I am your father" of Dragon Ball. This is also why the period on Namek where Vegeta is constantly discussing the Super Saiyan legend is so hokey now: we know the outcome and it's a huge marketing point of the series. Piccolo and Kami being aliens is also just a known fact, but it wasn't so until Vegeta meets him for the first time.
This is one of the problems with the first Kai episode; as much as I love it for the Dragon Ball anime recap, the use of the Bardock special footage ruins two major events that you won't learn until later: 1) The Goku is an alien, and 2) That Frieza destroyed planet Vegeta, not a meteor.

Anyone remember Beckett magazine? They had summaries of yet-to-be-dubbed arcs and movies, character descriptions for people like Janemba that the States wouldn't see for the better part of a decade yet, and so on. Ah, childhood.
