Question About Bojack

Mabye it's just a mistranslation, but in my movie 9 fansub, when Bojack is trying to break Gohan's back, a la Cell, he says to Gohan, "Soon you'll be in the land of the dead with your father."

But how would Bojack know about Goku, and that he was dead? Did it have something to do with the Kaios? Or was the subber just not paying attention?

No, that IS what he said. Well since it was Gokuh who broke the seal by destroying Kaioh's planet, I'm guessing he would know....I dunno, news seems to travel fast in the cosmos. I hate to pull out this lame argument but, it was a movie. It didn't have to make sense anyway.

How he knew Gohan was Goku's son is beyond me. Mabey he overheard Goku and Kaioh?

Perhaps you could get the FUNi DVD and get a real translation of the movie? Talking about watching a fansub (pretty recently, I'm presuming) of something that's been legally available for over 2 years almost seems lazy on your part. If you're gonna watch a fansub movie, maybe Curse of the Blood Rubies/DB Movie 1 or the "OVA", everything else is available. >>;;

I just checked the Funi DVD, and Bojack does indeed mention Gohan's father in Daimaô's subs.

Bojack: "Can you see your father in the Next World yet? The two of you will enjoy the show of carnage that is about to begin."

Kind of weird... How could he know about Goku dying? Hm... Maybe Bojack knows of him because Goku was sort of the one to break the seal by letting Cell's explosion kill North Kaiô.

Yeah, that's pretty much it.

Don't try and think too much about it because, well, movie logic, but Bojack knew about Goku because he was the one who released him, accidentially as it may have been.

Its simple to assume that Goku was pretty famous in the universe. Legendary super saiyan and all that.

Well, it couldn't have been a mistake because I'm sure Bojack mentions Goku more than once. I play the "its a movie card"... Another question is why Bojack chose earth after being sealed for so long..?

Goes by the logic that almost any sci-fi show or cartoon uses in that anything jettisoned into space will inevitably crash on or end up on Earth.

Well, maybe Bojack knew of Goku through his training there with the North Kaio. And then, after the planetoid was destroyed he was still 'in the area' or something and overheard the conversation between Goku and Gohan? Then he'd know of their connection...

My theory would be that Goku's reputation exceeds him, I mean, Freeza was known pratically everywhere in the galaxy, so obviously news of Goku must pass around pretty fast, that's what my theory is anyway.
