European Sparking! NEO facts.

Post by Rory » Thu Nov 02, 2006 8:31 pm

Finnaly got my hands on the European version of Sparking! NEO today!
It comes out tommorow, but a trusty shop nearby always sells games early.
This game, is essencially the same as the American version, so this'll apply to all other purchasers of the American Sparking! NEO.
So far, I'm enjoying the game, the music is really great, but it does tend to get a little repetative, I geuss its because there are SO many scenario's in the game, and even though there are a lot of songs.. it just isn't enough, and sadly, no Japanese audio, it would have been a great addtion.
Japanese voices though, so don't worry about that(Switched to it as SOON as I put the game on, Options mode was the first thing I went on! XD).
Also, it suffers from the Japanese musics problem. It doesn't loop well, although the songs do last longer, its kind of annoying when a song ends, and loads up again.. but thats about all for that.
Oh, by the way, the AI is fucking REALLY good.
Good to the point, wher eif you don't keep playing as hard as you can, it'll tear you a new one, in no time flat. (On level three that is, level 2 is still pretty hard, and level one is probly' what the Japanese versions was XD)
Well, thats all I have to say about it really(Well, that, and the the fact that the cover art rules.. remember, we got the original Japanese cover.).

Sounds good! Less than a week to go over here in North America. Sweeeet.

I do have a question though. In the first game (the American version at least) the Japanese voice option and sound levels all together were well...glitchy. Does this game suffer from any problems like this? Did the European version of the first game even suffer from this?

I think its awesome that they beefed up the AI after the Japanese release. It shows that they actually care. Hopefully it'll help keep me busy for longer than the original.

All glitches from the previous Sparking are gone.
This game is seriously addictive, and hella-fun.
And yes, the AI has been AMAZINGLY beefed up.
Sometimes its annoying though, 'cause the AI can be REEEAAALLY hard to beat! I was stuck on Kuririn, Gohan, and Vegeta, VS Jeice and Goku(Ginyu) for AGES, almost an hour I think(I had it on level 3 setting).
Oh, and music selection for the versus mode is still there.

Aww... Indeed it would have. Anyway, what artwork does the European cover use? I can't seem to find a picture right now.

Take note that by "No japanese audio", he means "No Japanese music". As I saw a commercial for Sparking! Neo just on the TV and they boasted in big bold letters "ORIGINAL JAPANESE VOICE-OVERS", and funnily enough, the flemish narrator did get Ten-ka-ichi right. XD Huzzah! Now to sit back and wait some two or three more months for the European Wii version.

Probably because most UK fans won't be familiar with the original music. :\

Nor are the most of UK/European fans familiar with the Japanese voices, but they put them in anyway, for the purists.
I don't see why the same can't be done for the music.

Ouch, I would take that back, if I were you.

Denmark, France, Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Hungary...

I know for CERTAIN that they had original music in their dubs, because I've seen clips from all these versions.
That makes up...good over half of Europe.
So actually, I'm pretty sure the ONLY European country that didn't get original music was UK!

If you change the settings to ORIGINAL japanese voices bulma says " You can change it to Japanese Voices if you want, but it won't do you any good"
Jord doesn't have a avatar because the combination of Jord and a equally cool avatar would cause the universe to implode.

Because no-one in the western world knows how to speak Japanese, obviously. Man, who do these people think they are?

I'd think (since "Okatron 5000" is runned by Chris Sabat) of this as some sort of backlash from all the hate mail FUNi has been receiving from years ago? It was probably all in good fun though.
