Like DBZ Fanfiction...?

Then you'd love my novel! I wrote this thing when DBZ was obsessing my life and I was very influenced by it. I tried not to rip anything off, but a lot of it comes off that way, but its actually just the reverse I was merely trying to take those ideas and put them in a different realm and try something new and different, but at times it may seem like"ripping off". Anyways check out "Clashing Forces: Reclamation" and see all the DBZ goodness dripping off of every page. Well okay its not that good, in fact since it was my first try I look back at it and think... "Did I really write that?" I'm sure you can pick it up at Amazon.com or any other internet book based webstore... If you do happen to pick it up, leave some comments here or go to www.myspace.com/clashingforces. Read the blogs there for some more short stories and other things I'm working on right now. Be sure to read ALL the blogs even the really old ones, because there's plenty of stories.

No. I don't like any fan fiction. I figure it's better to write a story with your own characters and settings. However, I'm not knocking the people who write it. I know they enjoy it, and I know others do as well. I would personally rather have a fully original story.

Okay the book is original it'd have to be to be published without me paying out the butt for liscensing and copyrights. Also I'm not sure why the link isn't working... Just go to Amazon.com and search for "Clashing Forces" ... I'm working on a redoo of this first "chapter", and will have a 200+ addition as well.

The link is working, its just that the period at the end made it seem broken. Here you go. And Daburcor, fanfiction is what fandom is all about. If not, people would just be restating the obvious facts and that would be boring. Besides, what-ifs are a form of fanfiction and if those weren't around the video games wouldn't be as fun.

To you maybe, but not me. Otherwise, my reply would have said so. I've seen fanfiction that I thought could have been really good if it were about different, original characters (and I'm not just talking about Dragonball). I just think it's a shame that people who ARE talented writers are using their talents to write about other people's characters as opposed to their own. I think it's a real shame.

Then you haven't read "Full Circle" by Nora Jemison. The greatest DragonBall Z Fanfic ever, it defined me man. A lot of fanfiction is crap, but some of it is really excellent, and usually the really excellent stuff follows original characters set in a DragonBall world. I like those types, cause you get the new story but also the Dragon world we know and love.

"Last Warrior" is the first story, and "Full Circle" comes after, so it's recommended you read Last Warrior before, though I didn't (not a huge fan of Mirai Trunks fics) and I still understood everything... Kind of like watching DBZ without watching DB first.

...By the way, JamesDarcon2007... is "Clashing Forces: Reclamation" fully complete?

Yes the book is complete, however it was rushed, because of the excitement of acquiring a publishing company and having it published took over. But right now, I'm working on a "special edition" where I go back and redo everything from the ground up, as well as adding the second "book" probably pushing it into the 400+ page range! Its gonna be insane when I finish it!
