"A Hero's Legacy" Dub VA Peter Mayhew Passes

Peter Mayhew, perhaps best known for his role as Chewbacca in six of the ten currently-extant Star Wars films, passed away of a heart attack at age 74 on April 30th, 2019.

Mayhew blessed the Dragon World with his dulcet tones as the voice of Susha in the Funimation English dub of the DBGT special "A Hero's Legacy."

R.I.P Peter, and while Chewbacca remains by far the most known of his by fans it's cool that he contributed to the Dragon Ball franchise even if just in the Goku Jr. special and also being one of the few times that FUNimation had someone not in their regular stable of in house VA's provide the voice for an albeit minor role.

This is a painful loss not just to the Star Wars community but to Dragon Ball as well even though to a lesser extent.

First Kenny Baker, then Carrie Fisher, now Peter Mayhew . Starting to feel like a bittersweet time to be a Star Wars fan with all the new content coming out but at the same time we're losing so many stars.

I was planning on doing an original trilogy marathon tomorrow, but may pop in the Funi dub of A Heroes Legacy too. Always thought it was really cool they were able to get Mayhew, and because of that dub an actor has been in both of my favourite franchises.

Oh, and if J.J is reading any of my social media posts (unlikely but hey better chance than here right) give Chewie his medal in The Rise of Skywalker .
