Is Rage Shenron Powerful?

I rewatched his episode the other day and found myself wondering this.

While he dose require an outside source for his power and has a pretty big weakness, Goku didn't actually beat him in the sense of overpowering him. A gimmick power it may be, but his Electric Slime is far more versatile and powerful then other gimmick fighters thoughout the series.

Rage Shenron's not particularly "powerful", just highly resistant to attacks. He's just like the Jiggler from Muscle Tower as well as Botamo from U6, there's so much flab on their bodies that neither physical strikes or Ki blasts can penetrate it.
Its a great defensive ability...but defense alone doesn't make someone powerful.

Bungee gum. It has the properties of both rubber and gum-

Wait wrong show.

TBH all powers are gimmick powers despite the respect the series chooses to give some of them. Without transformations Goku would be, well, Tenshinhan.

I don't remember Rage being partricularly effective but he was able to eat SSJ4 Goku's kamehameha no problem and throw it back so even if he couldn't do much direct damage, he'd definitely have the edge in a war of attrition.
My opinions suck. You should probably mute me to spare yourself having to see them.

He used half of power to beat Pan and full power to beat base kid Goku. So he would be pretty strong for DBZ standards, not so strong for GT standards though. I'd say he would be around Buu's or Rildo's power at best when using his huge form.
