Can "Galaxy" mean "universe" in DB?
I'll be upfront this is somewhat a strength related question but I also am genuinely curious if this is possible. In the Moro arc the word "galaxy" was used a lot and at first I didn't question what that meant. But, in the last chapters it was said that if Moro blows up he will take out most of the Galaxy and the super dragonballs as well. But, don't the Super DBs spread across the entire /universe/? Why would it just be a galaxy if that's the case.
This also seems to happen in past works like Shenron destroying the galaxy but also stated to destroy the universe. So, what gives?

IIRC, according to the Daizenshuu the universe is divided into 4 'galaxies', but later material says that there are countless galaxies, so perhaps the word 'galaxy' has multiple meanings. It could mean what we refer to as a galaxy in real life, but it could also mean an area of space equal to one quarter of the universe.
Cool stuff that I upload here because Youtube will copyright claim it: https://vimeo.com/user60967147

It might as well be. Nowadays, characters have the power to destroy entire universes and break down dimensional barriers with Ki blasts so a single galaxy is a pretty insignificant thing on the current scale.

If I'm not entirely mistaken, this was a misinterpretation, and what it actually said was that the universe is divided into four sectors called "the north galaxies", "the south galaxies", etc.Polyphase Avatron wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 11:11 pm IIRC, according to the Daizenshuu the universe is divided into 4 'galaxies', but later material says that there are countless galaxies, so perhaps the word 'galaxy' has multiple meanings. Japanese doesn't use plurals the same way English does, so translators misinterpreted.

As far as i remember it was the same in GT. They used word "galaxy" when talking about entire universe. Omega was said to destroy entire galaxy with his minus energy and Kibitokai responded that it means they will die too.

I think they can be used interchangeably. Fused Zamasu says that he is tired with the "universe", so he'll wipe out the "entire galaxy". The writers are obviously using the words "universe" and "galaxy" as if they meant the same thing. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense for Zamasu to say that he's tired of the universe, but is going to destroy only a single galaxy. Fused Zamasu is universal level, Moro is universal level, it wouldn't make sense if they could only destroy a single galaxy, because that'd mean they are no stronger than Kid Buu (which is obviously absurd, either of them could oneshot).

Akira Toriyama, DBS vol.4 joint interview with ToyotaroAt his core Zamasu is good like Shin, though I guess you could say he was so fastidious that it backfired. But you know, for this "Future Trunks Arc" you had to depict Zamasu and Trunks' inner conflict, right? If this was back when I was drawing the manga myself then I doubt if I could have done it. I mean, I'm not very good at depicting the characters' psychology on the page. So this all came together because now I only have to think up the story. [...] On my own, I doubt I would have been able to express Zamasu's fall to the dark side.
