Let's assume that Cell can't regenerate from having his head blown off, and dies right then and there. How would Goku feel?
Would he be relieved? Or perhaps disappointed that he'd go down so soon? Or even disappointed that he wouldn't get to see Gohan in action?
I've always wondered how sure Goku was that he couldn't win that fight. Like we know with hindsight he had no chance. But I wonder if there was a part of him going in that thought maybe he could pull it off himself, despite being weaker.
How would Goku have felt if he'd finished Cell himself?

Re: How would Goku have felt if he'd finished Cell himself?
I'd have to say this would be the most likely scenario. While destroying Cell was important Goku's priorities seemed to lie first and foremost in giving Gohan the best chance to have a good fight. If not he would have carried on fighting to wear Cell down as much as possible and not given him a senzu bean making all of his efforts invane. Goku definitely would have been disappointed he wouldn't be able to see Gohan fight, I could see him hoping the fight would make Gohan a lot stronger so they could one day have a good battle between themselves.90sDBZ wrote: Thu Mar 24, 2022 10:51 amWould he be relieved? In hindsight Goku is probably glad he died before Cell was defeated as it allowed him to train with even greater fighters in Other World.
