Here's a nightmare scenario: Every Dragon Ball OC you have has become real, but there's a catch.

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Here's a nightmare scenario: Every Dragon Ball OC you have has become real, but there's a catch.

Picture this; you woke up and turned on the news. You hear a report of strange, muscular men (or women) with strange-colored and shaped hair running rampant all across the world. You take a good look at them, and notice two things.
  1. They look like they came out of Jump Force
  1. Some of them are your OCs
You immediately begin worrying, but you try to put aside your fears. "They're probably just cosplayers...or maybe a video game mod...it must be a joke, right?" But then you see one of them fire a ki blast, a REAL ki blast, at a building, and the building collapses. That's when you realize, that shit just got real, and there are real-life Dragon Ball characters wreaking havoc on Earth. You immediately get your stuff together and step outside, as you see OCs fighting each other, throwing each other through buildings.

Here's the catch, though. You have an app on your phone/tablet/console/computer/VR headset/whatever you have that can install apps, that allows you to control any OC that you've created. Meaning, you can participate in fights with other people around the world! What would you do with your newfound abilities, and would you have to hide it from anybody? If they found out, how do you think they'd react?

I'd have to hide this from my parents; I can only imagine their reaction when a strange man wearing a gi with big eyes, a monkey tail and incredible muscles walks through their door, speaking Japanese.

So it is like in that old movie TRON, but instead of us going into the digital world, they would come to ours.

Gee I don't know, because there are still the limitations of the real worlds, so that means we can still easily bleed etc. scary

Oh, forgot to mention - they retain their strength. If you were to have an OC that's like, universal level, THEY CAN STILL DESTROY A UNIVERSE. So watch out! :D

What would I do with a superhuman who can't be killed by any conventional means, is what you're asking?

Probably start a billion-man psychotic cult for the lulz. Realistically, force the world to bend to my desires for what I feel it should be. Billionaires don't agree? Whoops, they're vaporized. They try to nuke me? Whoops, my OC literally laughs off the mushroom clouds and crushes their skulls. Others with their own OCs try to stop me? What's stopping them from doing the same thing?

It's the same dilemma I posited in Little Miss Savage: bringing a superhuman onto our Earth is not all fun and games. It's not "have fun with a secret identity fighting bad guys and making Shonen real." Our whole existence, criminal justice system, sense of morality, and condition are based around the fact all humans are roughly equal. A handgun and a germ can kill any king or titan of industry just the same as any lowly pauper or prole. We're all equal before God— and you literally just let me walk God like a bitch on a leash. The criminal justice system CAN NOT handle the existence of a person who can erase the planet or survive a nuclear blast point blank. Not unless there are other agents of equivalent or greater power to keep such a person in check. And they also have to agree to follow the rules set by humans because otherwise they can just make their own rules we HAVE to follow. So basically the rules no longer apply to me or anyone else in control of these characters. There's ZERO REASON why Superman HAS to follow the law. If he didn't want to, who's going to stop him? Same deal with Son Goku. Heck, that's part of the horror of the Goku Black arc, just the cold fact that if the strongest man on Earth decides to kill everyone, there's NOTHING anyone can do except fight back in a pathetic battle they've already lost.
Best case scenario, the OCs and their owners get lost and do their own thing separate from human society.

Think Greco-Roman mythology more than Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh.

On a more esoteric note, this is a big reason why so many people are afraid of artificial superintelligence... but that's a debate for another forum.
