Let us say that once Son Goku had recovered on Planet Yardrat from his fight with Frieza and then started training to learn how to use his Super Saiyan form more effectively and to learn his Instant Transmission technique, Son Goku had made some time to have kept on working on mastering his Kaiōken and Spirit Bomb techniques too?
As let us say that Son Goku would have realized that he would have needed to try to truly have mastered his Kaiōken and Spirit Bomb techniques from him remembering just how little his Kaiōken and Spirit Bomb had helped him against Vegeta and Frieza. Especially with him remembering that not even his 4X Kaiōken Kamehameha and Fusion Spirit Bomb had been enough to defeat Vegeta and also of him remembering just how his respective uses of his 10X Kaiōken, 20X Kaiōken, 20X Kaiōken Kamehameha, and Large Spirit Bomb had all failed to help him defeat Frieza too.
And let us say that Son Goku would have kept on making time for himself to have mastered his Kaiōken and Spirit Bomb techniques whenever he would have been finding himself training from ever since spending time on Planet Yardrat and for the rest of the Sagas that would have followed the Frieza Saga.

In Yadrat, we know he trained to learn Shunkanido and to turn SS at will, which is better than KK in every way. He only had time to learn Shunkanido, so it's safe to say he didn't spend time polishing any other technique.
KK was already mastered on his way to Namek, using big multipliers on the spot, just like that, and then SS made it obsolete, providing a bigger boost with no drawbacks. In any case, he should be trying to improve SS, as he ended up doing in the ROSAT.
KK is power at the exchange of health, so having something better should put the technique to rest, and probably using SS and KK would be a death warranty. The anime says that the calm nature of SSB was what allowed him to add KK into the mix, and SS is the opposite of that. The anime did SS+KK but only for a moment, supporting that SS and KK do not mix, not for more than one burst, at least.
About the genki dama, I'm not sure there's much to be done there. The technique relies solely on the energy of living beings on a given planet, and the record of 'failures' it has (it's debatable that it did nothing to Freeza) is more related to the endurance of the enemies, rather than due to Goku not using the technique properly.
I'd say Goku in Namek was already using the genki dama much better than on Earth, he was getting energy from other planets, not just from Namek. Vs Vegeta it was only Earth's. Now, it could be argued that Goku didn't try to get energy from Jupiter because maybe he thought Earth would suffice and was also against the clock, and against Freeza he knew not even with the surrounding planets he might pull it off.

You know, once upon a time, the Mafuba was a forbidden suicidal move. Then Super rolls around and suddenly it's not that bad of a deal, well not bad considering what it once was. So I go into this topic under the belief, that hey, if the Mafuba can be retconned and improved, so could the Kaioken and Spirit Bomb, at least of the plot ever demanded it. (technically it already did, with Blue Kaioken)
When it comes to the Kaioken, no improvement would overtake beyond Ascendent Saiyan Level when it comes to multiplier, and natural effect on the Saiyan body. But Kaioken is still a technique. It went from King Kai not even able to perform it, to Goku standing in level 20 for untold minutes against Freeza. With practice and refinement just like any other skill, there's no reason to think that the strain on the body can't be reduced to almost nil, starting at the basic level, and then improving it to higher and higher levels. Maybe it could eventually overcome Basic Super Saiyan's multiplier? Maybe.
With Forced Spirit Fission, the Spirit Bomb could be improved further. perhaps to gather Energy faster, to even having a level of control of how much energy to take, know how much is too much. Perhaps in battle, as forced spirit fission separates the opponents energy from their body, that energy could be formed in its own spirit bomb, when the opponent is on their last leg, kill them with their own energy. And Finally, remember Deus Ex Spirit Saiyan from the Android 13 movie? Learn to take that Spirit Bomb energy and absorb it into your body.

Just because Kaioken is mastered doesn’t mean it shouldn’t take a toll imo. I mean, it literally doubles one’s power in an instant, and goes even further, naturally it should be strenuous regardless of how much training is done.Steven Bloodriver wrote: Mon May 02, 2022 2:23 pm Let us say that once Son Goku had recovered on Planet Yardrat from his fight with Frieza and then started training to learn how to use his Super Saiyan form more effectively and to learn his Instant Transmission technique, Son Goku had made some time to have kept on working on mastering his Kaiōken and Spirit Bomb techniques too?
