I think for tenkaichi 3, They should add Gohan's original outfit(with 4-star ball on hat) and Vegeta's BAD MAN shirt.

For Goku I always wanted to see this outfit playable

though he sortta had it in the first Budokai game just recolored (based on the manga coloring, brown jacket, blue pants)
Also the reason the alt outfits are lacking in the Sparking games is because of the battle damage, ie each character has various degrees of battle damage thus for someone like Goku they need like 10 character models just for his blue and orange outfit (base, base battle damaged, Super Saiyan, SS battle damaged, SS2, SS2 battle damaged, etc) where as in Super DBZ and the Budokai games they don't have to worry about going through all that extra work of battle damage, and can do as many outfits per char as they want.
So basicly you can only have it one way or the other. One you can have lots of alt outfits and no battle damage, or two can have battle damage but not really any alt costumes but a small handful.
The only way it could really be done "both ways" without creating the problem(s) that both current ways have would be to animate the clothing seperate from the models, ie they'd only have to animate Goku's blue and orange gi once (applying battle damaged and non battle damaged properties to it) then they could use it for whoever needs it (Goku, Gohan, etc) as it be a seperate property from the model, that way they're not having to redo the samething over and over again like they have to do with Goku (or whoever) in the Sparking games.

I want alternative costumes too, like Future Trunks in his jacket without his sword. I love TAS, think what if Goku was wearing Vegeta's armour!

Tenshinhan's Buu saga outfit WITH his cape. Not a stupid blue color swap. Not to mention his has other outfits that could be added. I also liked Piccolo's "Nail" outfit.
I still remember the dialogue from Vegeta when he got his shirt, lmao.
"Servant woman! Fetch me a drying cloth at once!" *Bulma gives him the shirt* Wha...what is this? Pink?! Is...this for a man or woman?!"
Something along those lines.

Wasn't Tien's Buu saga clothes in Budokai 3? And Piccolo's Nail alternate? It's just laziness on the developer's part when they INCLUDE the clothing in a previous game, then ditch it in the next. Teen Gohan had his saiya-jin armor in B3 as well, and he looked sick with it when he went SSJ2. Now it's gone? The only POSITIVE alternates in Sparking NEO were SSJ Goku (complete with crappily drawn hair!) and Vegeta (Freeza saga black armor).
I want SSJ2 Gohan w/Orange Gi (Movie 9). It's all I ask. And, of course, Badman!

I want badman to be like what TAS say, everyone could wear it! It would be so awesome! Think about it, Goku wearing Badman vs Vegeta wearing Badman, "There can only be one Kakarot!" "Hey, Vegeta, we are wearing the same clothes!"

Well Goku did wear it when he trained with Gohan before Cell, then there's also that frame with Goku wearing Raditz's armor when King Kai is telling him about the Saiyans, and of course there's also Bardock and Turles.I love TAS, think what if Goku was wearing Vegeta's armour!
Oh yeah and just a small note to everyone, Vegeta's Bad Man shirt (character model) does appear in the Budokai 1 Story Mode and very well could've been used as an alt costume but never was.
Here is a list of all the models Vegeta had in B1's Story Mode...
...yet only two of them were playable.Vegeta (Saiyan Saga)
Vegeta (Saiyan Saga with Scouter)
Vegeta (Saiyan Saga Battle Damage)
Vegeta (Saiyan Saga Hologram)
Vegeta (Namek Saga Armor)
Vegeta (Freeza Saga Armor 2)
Vegeta (Freeza Saga Armor 2 Battle Damaged)
Vegeta (Freeza Saga Armor 2 Battle Damaged 2)
Vegeta (Freeza Saga Armor 2 Bloody Hole in Chest)
Vegeta (Badman Shirt)
Vegeta (Android Saga Armor)
Vegeta (Budokai 1 Alternate Outfit)
As to why he and basicly every character only had two playable outfits through the entire Budokai series, well I'm pretty sure it's cause Dimps wanted it to be fair in the sense that most everyone would have the same number of selectable outifts, however that seems completely stupid to me and they should've just given everyone as many costumes as they could have rather then trying to make it mostly equal. Like if you look at Tekken, Soul Calibur, DOA, etc, everybody doesn't have the same number of outfits, it varies from char to char. They also should've done palatte swaps too, like Goku's GT colors with his End of Z outfit, or early Saiyan Saga Vegeta with his Saiyan Saga armor, and Manga Colors/Coloring for basicly all the characters too.

So, with the help of an Action Replay disc, would it be possible to use these models in a fight? An example where this was possible was Super Smash Bros Melee, where with the AR, you could play as Master Hand, Giga Bowser and many more normally unplayable characters.TAS wrote:Well Goku did wear it when he trained with Gohan before Cell, then there's also that frame with Goku wearing Raditz's armor when King Kai is telling him about the Saiyans, and of course there's also Bardock and Tullece.I love TAS, think what if Goku was wearing Vegeta's armour!

Hopefully with PS3 and Xbox360 being around we can have our cake and eat it, too.TAS wrote:Also the reason the alt outfits are lacking in the Sparking games is because of the battle damage, ie each character has various degrees of battle damage thus for someone like Goku they need like 10 character models just for his blue and orange outfit (base, base battle damaged, Super Saiyan, SS battle damaged, SS2, SS2 battle damaged, etc) where as in Super DBZ and the Budokai games they don't have to worry about going through all that extra work of battle damage, and can do as many outfits per char as they want.

'Xactly. Even if the developer neglected to add something in the original game, we could download the extra content. And it's not just limited to alternate costumes. We could download extra characters as well. Maybe even original Japanese game music if the PTBs allow it.Kendamu wrote:Hopefully with PS3 and Xbox360 being around we can have our cake and eat it, too.

Well if you play through the Story Mode in B1 you get to use and/or see a number of diff costumes for Goku, for instance, even though it's not selectable as a costume in B1 when you fight against Freeza for the last time as Goku, the character model is a battle damaged Goku that reflects the way Goku looked the first time he went SS.I totally agree with all of this, but is it really possible to have so many costumes for certain? If we really had 20 different Goku's and Vegeta's how many people would actually play with all of them. After saying that though, I would.
Basicly the way you'd be able to experience a lot of the diffrient looks would be through whatever Story Mode is within whatever game if that paticular game does indeed have a lot of costumes.
I never really thought about it. I mean I know people have hacked Budokai 3 with AR to allow you to play as Bulma (and a couple other models) but I don't know if anyone ever attempted to do it with B1, or if it's possible. So, with the help of an Action Replay disc, would it be possible to use these models in a fight? An example where this was possible was Super Smash Bros Melee, where with the AR, you could play as Master Hand, Giga Bowser and many more normally unplayable characters.
That's not the problem, or rather the weaknesses of the modern DBZ games have nothing to do with the limitations of the current/last-gen systems. It's due to the fact that all the games are developed by small developers with a small budget and only a couple of months development time for an entire game.Hopefully with PS3 and Xbox360 being around we can have our cake and eat it, too.
For instance as good/nice/well liked as the modern DBZ games may be, when you compare them to every available game on the PS2, XBOX, and GC, they're quite shitty. Like take a look at God of War, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy XII, Ninja Gaiden: Black, and Zelda: Twighlight Princess, all games that really push the current-gen stuff to the limits, not to mention are games considered to be some of the greatest games of this era, ie they are perfect examples of what is capable when you put the time, money, passion, effort, etc, into a single project, rather then only a couple months.
Basicly to me there's really no point in seeing DBZ games going next-gen when they can't even push the current gen stuff to it's limits.

On a slightly off topic note, I actually just recently saw an example of cel shading that puts most (if not all) cel-shaded games to shame.
From the upcoming Final Fantasy Tactics remake (FFT: The Lion War)

The above is the actual in-game character model for the main character Ramza, and note it's a PSP game too. I myself don't know that I've ever seen a more exact replica of a "2D to 3D" kinda thing.
If anyone wants to see the models in full 3D for themselves, check them out at the official site...
