Interest in a theoretical DBGT manga?

Post by tainted saiyan » Wed Jan 03, 2007 7:07 pm

Even though toriyama would never create this, would anyone like A manga of GT? It would just be a reproduction of the episodes, but I think that it would sell.

I wouldn't buy it if it was a reproduction of the anime, but a different GT would be nice  ...

Ooh... You broke one of EX's Fanboy rules
His name is not "Akira."
Either call him "Akira Toriyama" or simply "Toriyama." You're not on a first-name basis with the man. Show some damn respect.
And as for a GT manga, to me, the idea sounds unappealing. I like many others found GT to be pretty boring, and I can't imagine reading it making it any better.

If in this manga version Goku weren't turned into a child and Pilaf made some other wish with the black star dragonballs instead, then yes, I would read it.
On hiatus.

Uh, I think they may have a film manga of it, like they did with the Dragonball (Z) movies, etc.

If it wasn't an Animanga and the storyline was a bit better, then maybe. It makes me curious, though.

Definitely! Even if Goku got turned into a kid and such. A manga would hopefully show Bra a bit more, perhaps even making her the new Bulma, if you know what I mean. And well, Akira Toriyama would give the other characters more storyline than they have now. So more Vegeta with and without a moustache! :D

Lawl, I'll be making a petition now!
...No, not really. ;p

Akira Toriyama once said in an interview (that I can't reproduce because it was that long ago) that if there was a sequel to the Dragonball manga, it would star Mr. Satan and Mr. Buu.

Well, it's not a manga, but I'll be providing "illustrations" along with my revised GT Fanfic. Some of them done like full manga pages, with panels and everything. Once I get back to said fanfiction, anyhoo.

After seeing that SSj4 Goku sketch and another GT picture by Toriyama, I would have no problem with a GT manga; changed or not changed (storywise).

Wasn't GT based on a fan manga to begin with, which was then expanded upon by Toei until people stopped watching?

I've never heard that before. But if you can find proof of this, that would certainly be interesting.

I'd love to read it, yet certain added scenes would need to be present. The TV episodes just seemed rushed and without substance. Prehaps the manga could re-vitalise the series as a whole.
Vegeta: This doesn't concern you! This is between me and your circus clown of a father!
Goku: Circus clown. That's a new one.

Anywho I really wouldn't care for a GT manga. It would probably be like the "animanga" that is being published now and really wouldn't be anything new or interesting. :?

If it was a different type of GT manga, I would totally buy it but if it the same thing as the anime, I buy it too.

If it was a GT story with alternate and extended events it'd be great. It could have the same foundation as the beginning of GT and just let Toriyama go with it and do as he wishes.

We know that. What tainted saiyan is saying is if someone made a Manga of GT would you read it. You really should read a topic before replying.

Edit: Sorry, must have quoted the wrong post. Can't believe I was that stupid.
