And no I am not pro Saban, I hate that they had Vortexx Cancelled. Konami Cross Media wanted to buy the block but Saban outbid them and then they tossed it aside. If the block had survived until the Final Chapters and ESPECIALLY Super that would have been amazing.
But enough about that. Saban was the syndicator that gave DBZ its time in the air for the first time. There was even a thread about a Saban executive (A woman) who noticed it for the first time. "It looked promising" she said IIRC. I want to find that thread but I cant. One thing is for sure, Saban has a lot of story with DB.
How much does DB owe to Saban.

Nothing other than getting Z it's timeslots as you mentioned. Much like the Faulconer Productions score, Dragon Ball became successful in spite of Saban, not because of it, as every other country other than the US has shown the series is generally well liked and successful, and it does done well regardless of the distributor.
Saban had nothing to do with the series in Europe, instead it was AB Groupe, and it did well, not just in France, Italy or Spain but also English-speaking and broadcasting territories like the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium and Finland, all of which aired both Funimation and Ocean's dubs. Ocean also managed Dragon Ball's airings on YTV, and it was still a hit without Saban.

I love that you always post on my threads and always have an interesting and accurate point of view on things. Again. I dont love Saban but I wanted to stir discussion so I made this midly controversial statement lol.
