It's pretty neat if you like the old card RPG's of DB. And it can't cost that much now, so it's a pretty safe DB game to buy.

You'll probably love this one then. For a GBC release, it really does seem to push the hand-held console to its limit. It has a story mode that literally covers the entire DBZ series, from the training against the Saiyans to the conclusion with Kid Buu. It's definitely a very fun RPG and I'd say on par to the Legacy of Goku series, you can even walk around battle fields and find items or interact with companions. There's a very nice amount of cards you can use for maneuvers, powering your character up, and defending yourself in the actual matches, and some are actually tag-team matches similar to what BT2/NEO offers. You can also tell they put effort into simulating the "Cut-scenes" of whenever a character performs a move, dodges the opponent, and such. Lastly, the Duel mode is very fun. Pitting SSJ3 Goku against Ultimate Gohan is something ya' just gotta do.

Definitely buy this game, worth your time and very fun!

Eh, I found the gam to be fairly annoying. The gameplay involves moving your characters around on a "grid", where their positions give them offensive and defensive losses and bonuses. Then, by executing simple, not-very-damaging attacks, one builds up points which are then used to pay for special attacks which deal a great deal of damage. There are a lot off different special attacks, and subsequently a lot of different cards to defend against these, which sadly means that the gameplay revolves around getting into relatively safe positions, increasing for points as much as nessecary, and then execute a special attack, while praying your opponent doesn't block it/move into a place on the grid which will reduce the damage he takes. Similiarly, you must hope you play the right defensive cards at the right time when the opponent does his specials. The game essentially involves second-guessing which random action the computer controlled opponent will execute, and that's really not too good an idea for a game.
In a way, it's somewhat similiar to the old Gameboy games, just a lot more involving - those also had the core gameplay involving powering up for a lot of rounds, then executing a special attack and hoping it hit, while doing your best to block those your opponent sent towards you (though blocking was more about skill than luck back then, and done by partaking in a short minigame like "stop the spinning wheel when the cursor is at the colored field"). It's too luck-based to be fun.
