Was there any explanation behind this form in Movie 8?

Specifically in the flash back where an adolescent Broly is destroying cities. This form slightly reminds me of his Ikari form from his Super iteration. This couldn’t have been a restricted Super Saiyan form either since Paragus didn’t have the device yet, any idea if there is an official name for this form?

Yeah, Director Yamauchi Shigeyasu employs moody use of lighting and coloring in all of his work, especially from this point onward. Check out his Digimon Adventure 02 film for a ton of that.

Ehh I have to disagree. If you look at Paragus’s hair in that scene it is slightly tinted but still in line of his actual hair color while Brolys hair is a dark Maroon color and is spiked up. Maybe this was some sort of proto Super Saiyan form for him ?

even if so, it's still just restricted SSJ with alt hair color shenanigans.

I find it similar to the false SS from the Slug movie. I'd say it's something along those lines, not quite base Broly and not the blue-tinted SS Broly we saw in his first movie either.

Broly's hair is later dark purple at night and blue in the day. If Broly is using a different form all the guides we've had at this point would have mentioned something. I'm just going with artistic choice as we see him with blond hair in one scene and one Fram later in the same scene when he blinds Paragus I'm his eye its back to that dark color.

Yea that transition is kinda weird but the Broly in that second frame is a bit older and is a regular super Saiyan. Nonetheless, Teen Z Broly is a cool character.
