What's your opinion on the recent DBGT 16mm opening scan?
Recently, I saw what's popping up in my notifications, and I saw that Kineko uploaded their scan of the DBGT opening reel (the "Premiere" version, which kinda explained some animation errors). When I saw it, I was mind-blown that they finally scanned something GT-related, not to mention that the colors are amazing and it doesn't have any changes, which might be as close as we can get to have an actual release (aside from some official releases in the past). Hopefully, they'll find some interesting GT content one day in the future, such as the endings, recaps, 2nd opening, TV Special and the creditless variations of the OP and EDs. Just my opinion.

I think the scan looks pretty good.

I don't think they will find the GT special.

I really wish EVERY classic series (original, Z, and and GT) are available on Blu-ray or HD remaster broadcast (not just Kai!).
If film is available, do the HD remaster!
I understand process takes a lot of time and money, especially for classic series (500+ episodes), but demands are there.
I can see that if Toei announce Blu-ray set for these, pre-order would haywire, where it would probably sold out (first print) in matter of few minutes. It would probably be the most epic anime release EVER.
If GT ever comes out on Blu-ray BEFORE original and Z, I would probably pre-order.

It looks pretty neat, feels weird watching it color corrected after you've only seen it with the degraded colors your whole life, but it's nice to know how it was intended to look.

For some reason TOEI seemed to have mislaid or lost the GT special prints because unlike the series TOEI didn't do a film transfer for the Dragon Box DVDs and had to use the TV videotape, which every release of it has been sourced from.
Anyway I liked how the OP scan looked. I'd be all for it if I could get the entirety of GT on Blu-Ray with that quality.

Not gonna lie, the GT opening is the most nostalgic for me, so this was a really amazing find.
Hopefully considering the size of the series itself we'll be able to find every episode like this, with the reels themselves?
Nah, not gonna happen. Would be neat, though.
